He would bring a lot of his own staff with him. They were with him at UF, a lot of em were.

He will bring Kenny Carter with him who is a RB coach and has been with him since UF.

He will also bring Vance Bedford with him who coached both Janoris and Haden at UF.

He was really good, but had Florida to recruit from. Also, Miami and FSU were really bad for much of his tenure at Florida, which also made it easier to recruit.

Yea those reasons are why I asked. Many UT fans seem to be calling him an ace recruiter based off his stint at UF without really digging deeper. With that said I would still like to have him.

He is a really good recruiter, don't get me wrong. However, he won't be cherry picking Florida for talent with UF and FSU back to being solid each year.

Vance Bedford and Kenny Carter are both really good recruiters who have been with him since his UF days. Also, Clint Hurtt is on his staff who was at Miami and he was a really good recruiter. However, Hurtt sucks as a position coach.

Like volfan said he, Graham, and Tee would light up the vol fanbase. And all three can recruit lights out.

Serious Strong question here. Do Vol fans think it's a good hire?

I would be pretty pleased. Very pleased if he hired a good staff. [

If so, what if UL got beat by 30 in the Sugar Bowl?

I really don't care about that.

I actually thought UL would be better than they are this year. I know their record is good, but the SEC is far from the Big East. I like Strong and think he's a good coach, just wondered what Tenn. fans thought.

So did I, but he has really improved their program/talent level while he's been there.

I'd be on board with Strong so long as Hart made attempts to grab some of the other big fish out there first(gruden, gundy, patterson etc.) If UL gets blown out by UF in the Sugar Bowl I wouldn't be pleased but not shocked. He's going up against one of the top sec teams with Big East talent.

Their WR coach may be calling the Sugar if he gets the hire at one of these SEC gigs.

I would be very surprised if Graham is not retained. If whoever is hired does not find a place for him on his staff it will really piss off a huge portion of the fanbase.

Tee would probably really lock up the mid-state area starting with Jalen Ramsey, but I could live with Strong not hiring him.

All I know is, there's no chance in hell Stong leaves Carter and Bedford behind. They were his boys at UF.

how disenfranchised is the Vol fan base right now? Who can sell season tickets? I think Strong would be a great hire.

I actually think he needs to hire Tee to get the fanbase fully behind him, nevermind that he can recruit lights out.

I got a question for you. If you guys hired strong instead of muschamp would you have been happy?

Strong would get the fanbase excited imo.

If it is Strong + a staff with some Vol ties it will be a grand slam from the fanbase's prospective imo.

I didn't want Strong back then. I didn't want Mullen either. Of all the top candidates who were floating around, I wanted Petrino ( )

very, their program hadn't had 3 out of 4 losing seasons in forever.

a lot of them here were on the Gruden bandwagon, and some still think Hart didn't do enough to get him, but I think they would rally around a coach like Strong.

Damn man, that is tough.

In all honesty, Strong had 1 year in the Big East, so it would have been a gamble.

Muschamp had no years HC experience, but has been around some solid HC's, like Strong. He was a gamble as well.

I would have been fine with it. Not sure if I would have been "happy", because I usually don't get happy over "gamble" type coaching hires until I see what kind of foundation they are laying for the program.

I get the feeling the Tennessee deal is about to go down

I don't mean "Gundy to Tennessee," but rather I think UT has their man and it will be resolved soon.

It could be Gundy. Could be Strong. I wouldn't place a wager either way, but an awful lot of source information and just the general tenor says to me it will be resolved soon.

If you want to know first, look for a release from either OSU or UL. The opposite school will have just lost their coach. If both do, well then that qualifies as a "monkey wrench"

Vol fans going to be comfortable having Clint Hurt on staff? Seems to have a "past" while working at the "U"...and Hurt is the man who has gotten the south Florida players to the Ville.
