Damn solid hire, he would get our rivalry back to where it should be imo.

With ya. He's not going to have to flip the roster with a new scheme, knows the SEC, brings the splash hire TN wants and will recruit like a boss.

Even if he didn't work out for some reason, the cupboard would be full. I think he'd be a great hire.

Would be a great hire for UT.

I said he is the one guy I did not want to see at AU or FSU. I don't think he will have the same impact at UT as he would at those other places, mainly because of recruiting, but we will see. Still think he will get UT back to relevance and competing in the East again.

If he can recruit a Louisville, he can Damn sure recruit at Tennessee with the resources they have.

I'm hoping it's not Strong. Don't want to have to cheer against him every game.

He has recruited well for Louisville standards. Not sure how well he will recruit at UT with SEC standards. I think he will be really solid.

How solid of a recruiter was he at UF? Want an insiders perspective.

I was dog cussed by most fans, but I always said that I feared Strong more than Gruden.

Gruden is a name only, Strong is a proven coach in college football.

He wasn't one of the "big" recruiters here under Meyer (Like Addazio was). He mainly recruited DL and LB.

He was really good, but had Florida to recruit from. Also, Miami and FSU were really bad for much of his tenure at Florida, which also made it easier to recruit.

He has really good assistants and is a really good leader. Like I said, he will have UT competing in the East again. IF it is indeed him.

If you guys miss on him and end up with Jimbo. You guys will be fricked for another 4-6 years.

Strong+Tee Martin+Jay Graham would be a very good start. I think we would close REALLY strong this year based on some of the guys we're in on.

Serious Strong question here. Do Vol fans think it's a good hire? If so, what if UL got beat by 30 in the Sugar Bowl? I actually thought UL would be better than they are this year. I know their record is good, but the SEC is far from the Big East. I like Strong and think he's a good coach, just wondered what Tenn. fans thought.

Kudos to ya.

He would be a grand slam hire. And he has a ton of connections with high school coaches in the south, which is what Dooley didn't have.
