True there are many coaches that never played competitive sports on any level, that doesn't mean they cannot coach. Chuck Daly and Todd Haley are 2 I can think of, but I remember watching something once that had a huge list. Its about intellect, not specific athletic ability

The guy made sense in most of his posts, even if you disagreed with what he said because of a differing of opinion based on social and/or political beliefs.
If you're an All-American Blue Chip high school wide receiver that wants to one day play pro football, do you want to come play WR at a school where your position coach has never played the position at any level? This is particularly important at WR. How can you effectively and competently teach route running and other WR technique stuff if you have never done it on the field yourself. What does Tee Martin know about the finer aspects of coaching WR's? Want to develop your receivers, then hire somebody with playing and coaching experience as a WR.
Hey, let's get one of the GBFTL trumpet players to go teach the drumline. Same principle.
