Smart move on both sides. When you get to plan G, it's time to fish our cut bait. Move up for Derek, up and comer with some SEC cred for UT. When Air Force turns you down, you've got to get someone.

Any chance Tech goes after Crowton?

I don't get Tennessee fans. They went nuts over hiring knucklehead Kiffin and Dooley is infinitely more qualified for the job than he was...But a lot are dogging Dooley.

They would be doing themselves and there school a favor if they took the circle the wagons mentality in this situation. I think all things considered with how it played out that they did pretty good. Dooley getting such a hire profile job at this point maybe a bit premature, but there is little doubt that he was destined for a job of this level.

kiffin had a national name and had 1 super redeeming quality (recruiting)

dooley says, "we're not a 1st tier BCS school and had to settle for a guy who couldn't win his non-BCS conference"
