And those are just the few names that come to mind of African American head coaches who were hired (both in college and pros) well before "Wokism" was a thing. Seems like wokism and "being woke" is being blamed by a bunch of ignorant tRanters for everything these days. 90% of whom I bet couldn't even really define what the hell it really means. and btw - I am not a fan of the Mel Tucker hire (if it happens) simply based on record. But stop it with the blaming "wokism" for everything that you disagree with and for every problem in your life.

They just need to hire the right coach, meaning a coach that is a proven winner, regardless of race.

Now name all the White coaches that has failed, been fired and rehired on multiple occasions in college and pros as you say and compare the difference.

Mel Tucker is probably the least qualified of names that have been thrown out there, on paper at least. If guys like Fickell, Napier, Aranda, Fleck, or Campbell want the job and get passed over for Tucker, people are going to think that based on credentials and the growing politically correct bull shite happening at the school as a whole.

Personally, I think Tucker would do well here, or any name on that list really, but I would prefer an offensive mind rather than a defensive mind.

What?? I don't understand your point.

Oh yea...add James Franklin to that list as well. Croom and Mason didn't have much success as head coaches but all the rest are winning coaches.

If Tucker gets hired, it's Wokeism.

No other explanation.

Really? Do you even know what wokeism means? And what would you call all the previous African American hires?

Well it looks like we have located another virtue signaling NPC. Your moral superiority shines bright so I’m glad you weighed in and set us all straight.

If you can't understand how it is different at this time in history, with the new University President and (yes, they might be bullshite) leaks, then I just don't know what to tell you.

You're unpersuadable with "facts" in that case.

He’s looks better on paper than many mentioned on this board including both Aranda and Brady bc he has NFL, SEC, and head coach experience. With that said, I’d rather several others over him, including Aranda, bc of potential upside. But if you are simply going by resume he is very far from the “the least qualified”.

Since you phrase it that way, I would call them not universally based on merit.

Not claiming any moral superiority…can’t we not like the Tucker hire simply based on record (which is why I’m not a fan). But blaming “wokism” for him being considered is just plain stupid. Were the other schools or pro teams “woke” when they made those hires?!?

So when a less experienced white coach is hired over a more experienced white coach, what is that? Right fit? Why can't Tucker be a better fit than a more experienced white coach? Why does it have to be wokeism?

To me its an insult to Scott Woodward to believe he is not gonna hire the best fit coach he can hire.

The snowflakes have thrown down the gauntlet for when they will melt over a hire.

yes. Hiring unqualified people simply because of their race.

Hiring a black buy =/= wokeism.

On a different forum, sorry Chicken, I stated that Tucker doesn’t have the resume to land the LSU job and think Franklin should get the Job…I was then hit with comments of suggesting my post had racist undertones by not wanting Tucker…let that sink in lol
