Well I think we bentover and he obliged us. I mean, LSU didn't have to agree to the contract. I blame Skip and the other powers to be that allowed LSU to get in that position.

I mean if you negotiated a big pay raise even if you didn't deserve it I wouldn't be mad at you, I would just think your boss is an idiot.

If what everyone says is true that " Les was an idiot to begin with and had poor game management skills. That our team has slowly declined in discipline and we on the down slide " then why in the hell was he given such a fat contract. And who in the hell thinks someone should get a extra year on their contract for an 8 win season?
Also, all the offensive coaches got raises this year? What the hell.

I think some of this anger should be directed at the people who failed us with the decision to put us in this situation. This is why I am not so sure that even if we do get rid of the entire staff things will get better. With the exception of Saban, I can't say that I have been impressed with any of the last 5 hires (oh and the guy that hired Saban is not here anymore). It is like a company, the company will only be as successful as top management. I think we could be dealing with inferior top management. Hope I am wrong, but......

Heres the answer for you plain and simple: The only teams that had more or equal talent than us was UF and Bama. Our team was not prepared for Florida, the Bama situation was a little more sticky, but coaching was still a factor. The Ole Miss game was terrible. We have, in relation of talent, one of the top 2-4 teams in the country. We have, in terms of facilities, a top ten team. We should be giving teams of equal talent a dogfight. We showcased that marginally in the first half of two games against teams of equal talent. We lost a team of lesser talent where a quarter of their starters were from our state, and that stings. Furthermore, we had an inability to dominate teams that had vastly inferior talent. This is SCARY for the amount of money TAF is spending on the team and the amount of talent we have.

To the next point, this team has no discipline, plays sloppy, and has poor play calling and coaching. If there was ever a very empty 9-3 year it was this year. We only beat three teams that ended up with winning records and NO teams that were better than 7-5. These are scary statistics. Until the coaching staff shows it is worth its weight and not just riding the coattails of the talent of the team, yes, we are "stuck" with Miles.

Well said, my friend

We haven't' been relevant in 2 years in the SEC. I'd hardly say that was wanting "instant" success. On the other hand, we are wanting the success that we have lacked over the last 2 years. Seems reasonable to me.

Miles has only been here 5 years. You instant success demanding spoiled babies need to give him a couple decades to get his QBs and his O linemen in along with giving him 10-12 tries on hiring the right coordinators on both sides of the ball. We're only 8 games behind Alabama in the SEC standings since 2008!!!

UF and Bama don't know what its like to replace QBs and Centers. That takes 7-8 years. You can't expect to finish within 2 games of the SEC West leader if you don't have redshirt seniors at QB and every o-line position. Plus, we have to fire our bad coordinator hires every offseason (NOT HIS FAULT AT ALL) and it takes 5-6 years for the guys to become accustomed to the new systems. The SEC trembles at the thought of what Miles will do to them when he comes fully loaded in 2017.

Don't worry though guys. Next year is our year! Afterall we only lose our starting RB, TE, and LT, best WR, 3 big DL, 3 LBs, one safety, and a starting CB.

We are fine.

We need to keep expectations realistic. If Miles can put up consistent 10 win seasons, you really can't ask much more because eventually he will have a team that can take down Florida and Bama and win the SEC.

Nobody can do better than him. He wins 10 games every single year with 6 win talent.

No, obviously there are many who can do better, tell me who you would want to take his place, realistically?

Jim Harbaugh
Gary Pattersen
Jack Del Rio
Kyle Whittingham
Bob Petrino
Kevin Sumlin
Greg Schiano
etc
etc

It'll be tough to beat Miles' ability to mis-manage gamedays, hiring shitty coordinator after shitty coordinator, fricking up recruiting of linemen and QBs, discipline problems, inability to look like a non-retard to the media etc but I think we can try.

You think any of those coaches would come to LSU if we fire Miles two years after a NC and going 9-3? Possibly 10-3?

I'm not thrilled with Miles either, but no coach in their right mind would come here if we fired him now.

coaches only want to work at places that give out lifetime contracts, everyone knows that. Florida fired a guy who had 3 winning seasons in his only 3 years there, they must've hired a complete frickup to replace him because no coach in his right mind would follow that.

That Florida coach didn't win an SECC or a NC....Which, according to you, I guess doesn't count as a NC.

"Hi Coach....We just fired a coach who won a NC two years ago, then went 8-5 with a freshman QB after he kicked off the 5* junior QB who was waiting to start, and then went 9-3 with another first year QB starting. This is totally unaccpetable. Do you want to coach here?"

Right.
