way too many people care way too much about Davis. we'll be fine. great LB recruiting this year

i second this. this is the one position we could afford to have a late switch and not be an issue.

this board is just filled with :wah: bit_hes

Ole Miss has to break the color barrier or perception of racism if they ever want to win an SEC or National Cahmpionship

REALLY??? are you serious with this statement. you think this is what is holding Ole Miss back?

They should hire Taggart or the best black coach they can and support him. It's their only hope

again, really? They should hire the best coach they can, regardless of color, religion, or national origin.

Shite like this is a problem. I would hate to know that someone hired or not hired me because of what I looked like, what church I went too, or whatever.

This is the type of attitude that will continue to keep prejudice alive.

I think what they mean, is Saban only recruits great players and if he recruited them then they of course are his players. So any team that has someone recruited by the "Great One" then they fall into the role of Saban's players. Except for kickers of course. :rotflmao:

Nov 5th is the NC game!

I totally agree. It is a shame that it appears the two best teams are not only in the same conference but the same division.

It is setting up to be a clash of the titans. Two teams as close to identical as you can get. :geauxtigers:
just because Lee is doing great, why is there a need to hate on JJ??? Does it make people feel good to tear people down even more? The guy has enough going on, he has not been found guilty yet.

Enjoy what Lee is doing and leave it at that.

I wonder if Pitt has considered one Gary Crowton. He'd be a good representative. He won't throw punches. He don't even teach QBs to throw correctly. Hell, he won't even let running backs punch it in when need be.

Pelini ran that defense......he was the interim!

he may have ran it but Ok labeled him Co-Defensive Coordinater.

"Pelini currently OU's co-defensive coordinatorEmail Print ESPN.com news services

Oklahoma co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach Bo Pelini will be named LSU's new defensive coordinator, the Dallas Morning News, citing a university source, reported Wednesday.

The announcement could reportedly come as soon as Thursday.

Pelini, 37, could not be reached for comment, but Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione told the newspaper he had not heard anything official but was aware of the speculation.

If the hiring is finalized, Pelini would join the staff of Les Miles, the coach chosen to replace Nick Saban, who is now with the NFL's Miami Dolphins.

Pelini's résumé includes being the interim coach at Nebraska after Frank Solich was fired two seasons ago. Pelini is a protege of Pete Carroll, current coach at Southern California and former coach of the New England Patriots.

Pelini was an assistant in the NFL for nine years, working with the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers before joining the Cornhuskers as their defensive coordinator. Pelini was also considered a candidate for several head coaching jobs, including Syracuse and Pittsburgh."

and they were 12-1 that year. Like I said, not a fan of it, I was just showing a certain example where it didn't suck like our's.

Any team that does this is defeated. I have thought hard, and I can't remember any success with it. Maybe better minds can enlighten me?

The Sooners had Co-D's when we took Pelini away. Not a big fan of it either, but it seemed to work pretty good for them at the time.

not sure what I got carried away with. Not saying anything is "Done" or "Definite". Just gave a piece of a story, that was also reported on hear.

Is this a cry for help

the only cry I hear is you trying to find attention by insulting people for no reason. This usually is from someone who:

A) has a dead end job they hate
B) can't get laid
C) lives with mommy and daddy
D) still living in the glory years of high school
E) All the above

With your a-hole level, I bet it is more than just one of the above.

so this is what you think about when you are sniffing those jock straps!!

dude, I was just saying I heard the same thing earlier this year and just so happen the person was an AD employee. I never said it was true or was gonna happen. I don't see where I was asking for attention or recognition. Just stating a little fact. I don't go spouting off all kind of inside info and I didn't even mention it until now because I didn't know if I believed it at the time, but with a few people mentioning it now I thought there may have been a little truth to what I heard a few months ago. Either way :doublebird:

nope, my info that I get is limited. sorta like your IQ, very limited.

For what it is worth, I have heard the retirement story earlier this year as well. I was told that it was due to his health and stress having a negative effect on his condition. This came from within the AD's office.

Now that was more in the beginning of the season, things change and belowpar might/probably is correct. It is currently probably not true, but there has been several unrelated stories of this; just saying where there is smoke sometimes there is fire.

For what it is worth, I hope it is not true. I would hate to see a health issue push him out, be it perm or temp.
