According to this quote by Ed regarding why he isnt coach the bowl game, it sounds like they have the new coach already.

From a "rules" standpoint, the AD has much more freedom once the coaching vacancy is imminent and/or official.
I'm sure there was something in Orgeron's walking papers that allowed his boss to begin actively pursuing a replacement with "gloves off". Woodward probably already has his man. Has probably already had him for a couple weeks...
