So outside of Ensminger every OC/PGC that O has ever hired at LSU is now a NFL OC.

Ensminger is the key. He has turned into the OC whisperer.

Spend a year in the film room and coaching next to ole Slinger, and you are on the fast track to an NFL coordinator job.

I don’t even know if the jets have an opening, but that seems like the most favorable place for him to land considering all the jet sweeps he ran.

His offense put up points ... except against Bama.

Are you confusing Canada and Slinger (pre-Brady)???

In 2017, we scored 10 in Tuscaloosa. And it’s not exactly Canada’s fault that Chark dropped 2 easy scores from Etling (though not well thrown at all).

Slinger was shutout twice in BR (2016 & 2018) running his own system.

I don’t know why some of you act like he’s a terrible OC. His career says otherwise and continues to be a well respected offensive mind.

Now his ability to work with others? Sure

Ed Orgeron isn't very good with putting a good team that have the right chemistry to make it work after that lucky 2019 year. It is like a one hit wonder!

I said Canada’s career has been on a downward trajectory since leaving here, and it had been until today. Going from Broyles Award to fired after a year, to a lesser program that doesn’t retain you after a coaching change, to out of work for a season, to NFL position coach isn’t up. It’s isn’t even sideways. It’s down.

I also said this wasn’t because he can’t coach offense, but because he’s proven to be a miserable a-hole who has trouble getting along on a staff. Maybe he’s just better suited to the NFL, but there’s a reason why he was a coaching nomad in college, why we fired him, why a friend of his fired him at NCSU, and why Maryland didn’t keep him after his interim season.

Canada is no star, but congrats on a nice bounce back I guess. It will be interesting to see if he drops the window dressing and develops a sophisticated passing offense in the NFL. The only creativity in his college offenses was in the run game. Feel free to dispute this, but anyone who watched Pitt in 2016 or LSU in 2017 knows I’m right.

Do you understand your username? You must've cherry picked your teams. Doesn't make sense! If you live in Pittsburgh then the Pirates should be your team. If you live in Atlanta or near by you should picked Falcons!

I wanted to post something about how it seems like its easier to play-call for Pros like Big Ben and what not..

but I still kind of think it's crazy that Matt Canada will be an OC for a team like the Steelers.

so...

agree with OP

Good luck with that.

maybe Ed Orgeron actually does know what the frick he’s doing. Just maybe

The fact our cast offs are getting OC jobs in the NFL has zero to do with O "knowing what the frick he's doing" with assistants. Claiming their new employment success is somehow an indication of his assistant hiring prowess is laughable. His history suggests he bungled their use here but they could've also been the wrong fit for the college game or LSU. Either way it has nothing to do with O knowing didly $hit.
