I’d be very surprised if it’s Dabo.

I’d guess Venebles or Campbell

And any of the above three would be announced this morning for Saturday “pop” when all eyes are on CFB and they could get some exposure …. if there’s not an announcement today before noon or so, it’s probably Aranda or Fickell or NFL guy

Dabo would definitely have been announced right now, actually probably even earlier this morning where Gameday would have been able to talk about it non-stop. Because it wasn’t announced this morning, it’s not Dabo imo.

OU's side is the master of floating bullshite. Not sure why anyone would believe them.

That said, if it's Venables and Dabo OU might have the biggest homerun of all the coaching searches. That's a pretty amazing combo. Clemson's AD is leaving, their starters entering transfer portal, etc. so it seems very believable.

I’m hearing from people within Clemsons department that Dabo has informed them he’s leaving

I was told he had a flight to Norman mid week

Stoops gonna come back on a one year interim deal so they can get the right guy in. Much like how the Fickell deal at Ohio state went down.

Yea I’ll come back and make a thread and eat crow if it’s not.

From what I’m told they felt they had egg on their faces and wanted to make a statement

Congrats Sooners

It's true. I have several friends who are reporters for the university, they're at the airport right now. Whoever he is, he's here!

I would love to see a Dabo coached Oklahoma in the SEC because I think that would end badly for Dabo.

Drake has been OKC for a couple days and nobody knows why. Then this, from an OU player:

It may very well be true...its just kinda random.

Didn't know nike supplied superstars for coaching announcements. Especially when said celebrity has ZERO ties to that University. I could see other Nike schools having a problem with that...unless OU hired him directly, but then it wouldn't really be a jumpman shoot. Just kinda weird

I guess we shall see, but Dabo would be announced today IMO if it’s him.

It is. Drake hanging around OKC for a few days is even weirder. But who knows

He should’ve gone to ND. He would’ve ate up all the “aww po lil ND” juice they’ve gotten this week

If Dabo wanted to leave Clemson, why didn’t he reach out to Florida, LSU, and USC when those jobs were open? All three are much better jobs than Oklahoma

Better, but probably not much better.

Better in part because it sounds like OU has a meddling boosters issue they need to correct. Florida, Louisiana, and Southern California are also easier (all other things being equal) places to recruit given the proximity of more five stars than Norman.

I'm also making the assumption that USC will be giving Riley heavy institutional/facility/NIL support and keep their idiot boosters from interfering.

Although Clemson's history pales compared to the other schools it's also a top tier job where Dabo is adored and has an easy path to the playoffs. If Dabo wants to compete in the SEC I guess that's one thing (and pretty alpha) but I don't see why any of the other schools mentioned are necessarily better options compared to what he developed at Clemson

So true, hell the other day when they were having their press conference to introduce Stoops as interim, the local media were “hearing” Venables was In Norman, and was about to be announced as the head coach lol.

Dabo and venables at oklahoma could be something.

Dabo is very similar to bob stoops.

If it is Dabo I'm shocked. Figured if Dabo would leave it would be to Bama after Saban is gone. But maybe Dabo thinks he's getting up there in age and if he's going to make a move in his career it needs to be now.

Is this the GOAT Coaching Carousel?
