The guy had to replace 6 coaches from last years team. He is 8-1 with replacing 6 coaches. This is a very important quality in choosing a head coach. Look at what happened to O when he had to replace coaches.

That is a good point, I really feel like we are gonna miss the boat here. Woody may want him but he knows if he hires him and it's not some flashy name he will be ridiculed to death. Good thing about if he does get the job is opinions are just that, Woodward will be judged by what Napier does on the field. I'm all in for him coming here. I think Aranda makes the most sense but gut tells me Napier is the unlikely home run hire.

I think Napier has a tremendous amount of potential. I just don’t see Woodward hiring an unproven coach from the sun belt. I may be wrong but I’d have to see it to believe it.

Don’t get all excited for ya boy Dave he sure is not considered a big flashy hire. Just because he is having a decent season so for doesn’t mean he is ready to take on the LSU job. He has not been a head coach long enough to really be evaluated.

That knife cuts both ways. If Woody pays through the nose for Jimbo, or some other big name, and they don't produce, he'll get questioned as well.

I'd prefer Napier over Jimbo, but that's just my opinion.

Napier is a really good coach. If he gets to a school that has a hotbed of recruiting talent around it, he will become a great coach.

He’s had massive coaching turnover over this time there and still maintained success. Reminds me of someone

Yeah I heard that in his interview the other day. I really like Napier and think he's a good coach, but he hasn't helped himself with some of the games I've watched. His team has played down to lesser opponents and has looked uninspired at times. Levi Lewis also seems to have regressed. He's erratic and indecisive.

If Napier doesn't have ULL ready they might lose to either Troy or Liberty in the next 2 games.

Napier is a once in a generation coach IMO, what he’s done is undeniable and in a decade people will look back and say “how did no other programs hire this guy, he’s ten times better than Saban!”

So he's from the Sun Belt. He has more HC experience than Aranda and Tucker combined. He beat Iowa St. and coached under Saban.

No question whoever is hired will be compared to the trajectory of Napier, Aranda, Tucker, Kiffin, etc. among the coaches who would accept if offered.

Woody’s worst nightmare is Jimbo to LSU getting lapped by Napier or Aranda at Florida in 2-3 years.

His team has a lot of fight in them and they didn’t lay down when you could tell it wasn’t their night. Kind of looked like a Saban coached team the way they kept grinding even though Levi was all over the place. He made a good case last night IMO and I’ve not really been in favor of Napier. I can see it now.

"Coached under Saban" especially at Bama is a good recipe for your program being trash.

The only Bama assistant that has worked out long term is smart

Can you imagine the criticism if we pass on these guys and pay a boatload of money and the 3 aforementioned get to the playoffs first and continue to be successful?

Last time we were looking for a coach, many were enamored with Herman and or Jimbo, but we settled with Coach O. Herman fizzled out, Jimbo has at least been on the winning side of things, and Coach O won a title, but couldn't sustain success.

We need a guy who has direction and can lead a program. Maybe with Napier, he can lean on Saban after Saban is gone for consultation/mentorship. Last thing I want is LSU passing on a guy right here and him going to Bama and maintaining that program.
