Because if they were planning on firing him after this season, it likely would've been done by now.

But why the hell have they not? Is the UT administration okay with the direction of the program to the point that they are willing to give him a pass on the season (when this was supposed to be THEIR season)?

I've heard they told him not interested because of how he shot them down to go to UT and because they think they can do better (Fleck with Miles as a backup)

Dave Hart isn't firing anyone, and he will be AD until June of 2017. So Butch will be at UT for another season...then the new AD (probably Blackburn) will make a change.

At some point UT has to show that they can commit to a coach long term, otherwise no top coach is going to want to be part of their coaching carousel.
