A lot is made of Auburn's HUNH offense, but we rarely use it for more than a few plays at a time. We've controlled the ball very well this year and last year. I think a lot of traditional offenses in the SEC and the country have run way more plays than Auburn does per game as well.

The contract "law" is whatever the contract says. It can be negotiated in any number of ways. There is no body of law on college football contracts and NFL contracts.

I heard what Muschamp is still owed by UF, $6.3 million, has no bearing on if he takes a DC position for next season.

I always thought if you took another job the contract went void. But if it dont WHOOOOOAA that man will make some major money these next few years.

Usually they are written so that if their previous contract is for $6 mil, and their new job is paying say $1 mil, then the previous school only pays $5 mil with the new $1 mil making up the difference. I know that is how Shula's was written anyways.

The real nightmare scenario is Kirby Smart taking a HC gig somewhere and Bama hiring Muschamp, reuniting him with Saban.

that's my dream right now. i would love for kirby to get some hc experience right now IF boom were to be the replacement. i absolutely don't want him at auburn or a&m. any improvements to those defenses makes them serious contenders again, and they both have some front 7 talent to work with.

Well Boom to SC makes some sense. Gus is younger than the Ole ball coach. Saban has a few years left as well if Kirby leaves.
Boom probably needs at least three years to get a serious job, unless he just needs the prestige and goes to an underachieving program like Zook.
If you cannot win at UF, well that is not a great resume builder.

Got mad Saban promoted an NFL veteran Dom Capers to DC instead of himself. Saban said he regretted the decision and the job should have rightfully went to Muschamp. Said he didn't want to burden his coaches with a job like DC until they got a few years under their belt in the NFL.

I don't see how Muschamp reuniting with Saban would make much of a difference. Not exactly like their defenses are terrible now

Alabama put up 42 points and 600+ yards on his defense this year (with better defensive players than Auburn will have for at least 2-3 years).
