Alabama put up 42 points and 600+ yards on his defense this year (with better defensive players than Auburn will have for at least 2-3 years).
Well Auburn put up 44 points and 600+ yards on Saban's defense. Holding them to 42 would have been enough to win.

Last TD was window dressing. Alabama couldn't have cared less since they were up by 19 pts. But whatever makes you feel better. RTR

This makes far more sense than the Muschamp to A&M rumor. That's just delusional a&m fans spouting off.

Zero chance Muschamp takes TAMU since AU is open.

He has a degree from AU. He got his coaching career started at AU. Was DC at AU, and the campus is ~3 hrs from his home town. Plenty of reasons.

Look at his coaching resume....its pretty obvious. He was just head coach at FLORIDA. TAMU is still a 2nd-tier program. You haven't participated for any trophies in over a decade.

Coaching history

DC-LSU (Won national championship)
DC-Miami Dolphins
DC-Auburn (went undefeated season before)
DC-Texas (won national championship 2005)
HC-Florida (won multiple national championships before Muschamp in 2000s)

All established elite programs. LSU was the only one not established prior to his coaching there, but it was one of his first gigs, and during his time they became elite as a program. Muschamp is done with the A&M's of the world IMO.

He couldn't score a single point against Alabama this year. What makes you think he could with a good D.

Sumlin's team will never have a good defense because of the offense he runs. Doesn't matter who his dc is

Those are all facts. I have my opinion he wouldn't coach at a&m. His coaching resume speaks for itself, and taking a job at TAMU would be highly off target from his normal career trajectory. In fact, it would be a step down. Rebuild a defense at a tier-2 program? He might as well just become DC at Florida, at least its a big-time gig. A&M has an atrocious defensive coordinator history over the last 15 years. Just shite bomb after shite bomb, and shite defense after shite defense, and even in your greatest years its still shite defense. Who wants to scoop up shite in college station? Muschamp has even already been out spoken about what he thinks about college station. "The only time you'll ever go." I think that quote speaks for itself.

aTm fans are in for the reality check. Auburn getting him seems just too good to be true, makes too much sense, etc.

He may go a different direction entirely. However, anyone not an Aggie knows he will as an absolute fact not be lured to aTm. If he's not coaching at Auburn, he won't be coaching at aTm. The opposite is a distinct possibility.

I only remember one year when LSU had trouble with Muschamp's defense at Fla and it was more Fla's running game that kept the ball away from LSU

Under Slocum, A&M failed to have a top 20 total and scoring defense TWICE (1996 and 2002).
