there are so many rumors going around right now you just can't believe anything until it is confirmed. I have heard a ton of talk about Saban this evening from a bunch of different sources with all the same story... but it is still just rumor.

Didn't this come from the SID? Its called getting in front of the story people. They are telling the story they want told so everyone looks good. This is exactly according to stuff already posted. Miles wants to go. UM wants him. Therefore there has now been a press release by US that they have formally asked permission. We also put out a release that says we will talk about a contract with him. In the end we will say his heart was with UM and home and that we really wanted him to stay but he followed his heart (even though they really want him to go at this point). He gets to make a teary happy exit without looking bad and we get to look like we wanted him but he just had other thoughts.

Everyone gets what they want. Everyone looks good. This press release is just the prep for that.
