FWIW, Petrino hired BVG as his linebackers coach at the Falcons... so there's some history there (not sure if that's a good thing or not).
Smith then offered BVG the DC position (after he had accepted the job at South Carolina).

Well it's starting to come out that we are interviewing Malzahn and Patterson today so I don't believe that it's totally certain.

Bmfp is perfect since no sane top coach is gonna take the job. He has very few options and they WILL put a major morals clause in contract

Both guys will get consideration and both have influential people that support them as the hire. These are real candidates for the AU job (along with BP and Jimbo). Peterson, despite the rumblings, is not.
