So few Big Sky area coaches ever pissed a drop in the grand scheme

Idaho through to the Dakotas
The only ones who ever did big things outside of Big Sky country were Chris Peterson, Bobby Petrino and Dirk Koetter
For all the historic fanfare out of ND State, Boise State, univ of Montana... Montana State and SD State doing well...it looks like most have stayed away from those "up and comers"

Wouldn't mind South Dakota's governor becoming my friend

I live in Frisco Texas, where the FCS championship game is. Everyone here loves the North Dakota State and South Dakota fans.
They all love coming to Texas in January and drinks the bars dry. Very salt of the earth nice people

Have you ever been up there? They play 8-man, ironman football at some high schools. What has been achieved at the Dakota schools is kind of amazing when you think about it.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Montana and Montana high school football is awesome. Welcome departure from what some of Texas HS football has become. When you see the attitude they play with and conditions they play in it’s easy to see why Montana State and Montana overachieve at their level with kids from there. Same goes for the ND schools

I would love to see someone do a deep dive into how North Dakota State built an FCS powerhouse.

A-Gap Power, Multiple TEs and FBs, and running it down the other teams’ throats.
