The East isnt exactly murderers row. Beat UGA and youre in.

Gotta face Saban for the title at some point to win it all so thats not a good arguement

Chip jumped at the NFL to go against the best, if you think he’s afraid of Saban or the SEC youre lying to yourself

Some ppl just dont want to see him at UF so badly that theyll make up anything to try and justify it to themselves

Guy is as smart a coach as there is. Give him athletes and he'll win. Only caveat is that his skill set is more tailored to CFB than the NFL.

I have no idea why people think he'd fail in college football. He not only won at Oregon, he was wildly successful there. When does anyone think they'll ever reach a NC again?

The minute he left they fell apart.

I'd say UCLA is easily the better job. Much nicer place to live. Has the allure of the nice part of LA to draw recruits. IS a storied program in its own right. The PAC12 is not as strong as the SEC, but that could be to his advantage.

UF is a disaster right now, and while there is plenty of talent in Florida, the resurgence of Miami is not going to help those matters in the near future.

Money will be roughly the same is my guess, and he already has in-roads into recruiting landscape in California.

Why put yourself in a bad starting position at UF for no significantly better benefit in any way?

Lol....what has Richt won? Kelly will take any kid that isn't set on Miami.

As he does Florida and Texas.

Would you rather face him in the SEC Championship or the National title game?

What would a trip to the SEC Championship do for recruiting vs a trip to the National title game. Easy answer.

What other programs does he have to compete with on the west coast, Stanford maybe? There aren't a lot of really strong programs out there.

Look up every teams roster in the pac.....its full of Californians.

Yes, he'd get more of the top players but a lot of players want SC. Chip lost a lot of top notch players to SC while at Oregon.

I also realize Florida gets recruited hard as well but I see Florida as an easier destination than UCLA.

UCLA can't even say they're the 2nd or even 3rd best program in that state.

what exactly is so important about Monday, besides being after the regular season is over? Why does this decision have to wait through the weekend to be decided? Is Kelly waiting for another shoe or two to drop to weigh even more options?

This. Kelly should and will make sure anyone that wants him comes with an offer. He will probably never have this kind of "storm" surrounding him where he is perceived to be the savior for so many programs. He and his agent are gonna make a lot of money and get many offers.

Waiting to announce next week is apparently ensuring him of his NFL money. If he takes the job “during the season” , he lose his buyout.

Does it have to wait? No, but new coaches are typically announced after the regular season is over, even in odd situations like this. Urban Meyer was with ESPN and Ohio State had an interim coach, but he still wasn't announced until after the Michigan game. Not saying that is what is going on here, but it is a possibility.

Just curious where you heard this? I do not know for a fact because I have not read the contract, but I do not think this is correct. This is an NFL buyout for an NFL coach. I would think its so he could not double dip from 2 NFL teams during a season. The NFL could care less when a college season ends.

Florida is the better job but he will win more games at UCLA. His fast pace offense doesnt work against people who play defense and the SEC is a defense league/

People forget that the state of Florida can support 3 top teams. Miami, UF and FSU have all been great at the same time before.

No one or even two teams can get all of the top guys in Florida.
