I don’t know if “lazy” choice is how I’d phrase it, but drawing a line between those “good enough for mighty LSU” and “those not worthy of consideration” is haughty thinking. The search has felt narrow, which is a mistake of close-mindedness

We're over paying for decent resumes that i'm not sure are slam dunk championship caliber coaches. if lane was fat and ugly, he would not be this highly sought after.

Feels are overrated

Orgeron's departure was announced October 17, 2021. We learned of our interest in the coach we hired 44 days later (nationally regarded as a coup) basically the day we hired him

100%! I don’t understand why I’m seeing all the hate for Freeman. Do these posters have brain damage? I don’t think he leaves ND, but if he were to come to LSU that’d be a massive home run.

I became impressed with Freeman by the way he responded to the media trying to attach the “first African American” mantle on him when he took the Notre Dame job.

He was having none of it, just a football coach. And he’s proven to have the ability to lead a team.

Freeman turned us down twice (one was understandable as he became HC). I do not see him Coaching LSU. I only see him leaving ND for OSU if that job ever comes available.

Yea because the next LSU coach should be hired on a popularity contest.

Hey it’s what we do/did. It’s what kept Les here an extra year.

Okay,
So while he said this it’s not exactly what he said. He said they’re names that have been brought up a lot by fans and he was saying that they were vetted. But there are other coaches that have been vetted too, Shea just didn’t name all of them.
So basically this is not the top list or anything. Kiffin has been said by pretty much everyone that he is top target but beyond that no one really knows.

Drink is such a huge question mark but I think there’s a little potential with him.

Drink should stay at Mizzou. That's a good job for him. His record against good teams will not fly at a place like LSU.

It's going to be drink. Our governor made it ear we aren't doling out the type of contract it would take to land a bigger name.

landry's political future is tied to this hire. he has good interest in making sure they don't hire a dud.

Freeman is another Kelly. Play a one hard game per year and a cupcake schedule then scream we are Notre Dame. You can’t keep us out of the playoffs. No more ND coaches will you never learn?

Drink already makes 9 million. Would be lighting money on fire to give him 11 million per yr. He is not going to bring championahips.

Now go look at Kiffin record vs Top 25 (on the road)

Kiffin would be smart to leave Ole Miss but the annointing of this guy is perplexing

Everyone on the committee agrees on Kiffin. after that: Ballard wants Drink Verge wants Freeman

Verge’s son plays for Freeman, Verge knows him up close and personal. This makes perfect sense.

I'm OK with taking a shot at Kiff and/or Freeman.

There are a handful of up-and-comers that I'd rather have as a back-up plan than Drink.

Obviously, if he's hired, I'll support him but he isn't my top choice (or in my top 5). Hell, our last 3 coaches weren't my top choice but had my full support once hired.

God this is gross… Kiffin is good, but who’s to say he won’t chase $ next time. I mean we’re doing that literally right now. Freeman, is a flat no from me. He can stay where he is. And Drink ?? Holy shite why, just why??

Go get a young hungry coordinator or hell at the price we’re floating just make an open check book at Lanning and Kirby.
