I know Bama fans don't love Golding, but I very much get the same vibe as the section of our idiot fans that complained about Aranda in 2019. Modern college football is about offense and some games are going to turn into shootouts, and there are some fans that just haven't/can't accept that.

2019 was supposed to be some terrible defensive year for them, they finished the season 13th in defense. Yeah, they got lit up by LSU but so did everyone. 2020 they win a national title, and this year has already been posted that their defense is good. Their fans just have unrealistic expectations with the run they've been on. He would be a solid hire as a DC and a homerun for recruiting, which will be needed.

Bama fans would cheer if we took Golding off their hands

So many of these are typical fan responses. I can only speak about Golding, but let me say this, he would be an absolute great hire. He is far and away a better X and O coach than Jones, it is not even close. A great recruiter, football wise, he learned under Ron Roberts. Same guy Aranda learned under, same guy Patrick Toney(DC at ULL) learned under. Karl Scott now DB coach for the Vikings learned under Golding and Roberts. If he came to LSU, which I doubt, it would be a tremendous hire.

Yeah, this was established by like post 3 of this thread, and there are many arguments why they are wrong. And you probably would've cheered at a certain point if Aranda was gone.

Can we get a fan committee together where every school can tell us who they think we shouldn’t hire? Seems like it would make this place happy

Why would you doubt that? He goes to LSU he's the guy and nobody could question if it's his defense. It's a better career path to go to LSU because if his defense is performing well here his stock goes higher than it could under Saban. I think he'd leave if LSU offered him highest paid DC money as reported even if Bama matched.

Nick Saban WILL NOT lose some one he is threatened by to LSU.

Saban fired Kiffin yet made sure he ended up “Anywhere But LSU”.

If we get Golding, it’s because Saban thinks he’s no threat.

He had nothing to do with that. Kiffin was never coaching under Oregeron

This isn't really what happened at all.

I want to disagree...

But I did feel all along that Kiffin is too arrogant to work underneath O.

You could be correct.

But he’s a great recruiter.

They've been absolutely ridiculous about their coordinators this year so I'd be pretty happy with that. He's not my very first pick, but it'd be a good hire.

Kelly is trying to bag all the recruiters. The name floating for RB Coach is a recruiting coordinator for another team in the south.

Not my place to share the name. It’ll probably pop soon. Not a Louisiana guy but another state that pumps talent.

Dude clearly gets it.

You call it arrogance, I call it smart. Why would he go work for a guy whose clearly an inferior coach?

He did O a favor and let him tell Alleva that he was coming but it wasn’t happening. He took less money to go to FAU. Alleva was foolish enough to buy it. Saban had nothing to do with that.

I’m sorry Saban is that much of a boogeyman to you that you need to believe these kind of doomsday things, but relax.

I think Golding is a scapegoat for Alabama fans who secretly hate the way they win these days. Deep down they’d prefer AJ McCarron than Bryce Young #facts

Nah, they're just delusional and melt over the fact that they're "only" a top 10 defense efficiency wise.

Saban is a badass, but he's not controlling where his coaches can and cannot go. That's ridiculous

Kiffin obviously made the right career choice, which is why he went to FAU to begin with
