I keep seeing Ark fans saying that this move was great because it allows you to save money on a HC and hire an elite staff with the savings.

What are the details Sam Pittman’s contract?

I assume it was similar to what he had at UGA as OL coach.

Probably the standard going rate for OLine Coaches shifting directly into Head Coaching role (3 mil a year)

Is the buyout guaranteed? Better be after Arkansas contesting what they owe Bielema.

Buyout is also based on wins and losses. If he has winning record , he gets 75 % of remaining salary. A losing record and he gets 50% of remaining money.

Arkansas getting a quality coach with a contract that makes some fricking sense. This may be a turning point in the world of CFB coach contracts.

That’s why you’re not in charge. We’ll pay for that extra $1M/year easily in increased tickets sales. We might triple it. Almost certainly double it.

You missed my point. It wasnt about whether it would be cost effect for mizzou. If my school is going to make a risky hire (most are) I’d rather have the Pittman deal over the drinkwitz deal. Doesn’t mean anything regarding how well they will end up doing though.

If we end up with this Jay Johnson guy that has been thrown around, we must have decided we’re doing this shite on the cheap. 101st in the country in scoring?
