If Lane leaves Ole Miss this off-season, he'd be high on my list as well.

Kane Womack and Cignetti have done nothing to warrant an SEC job. Cignetti maybe more so. I’m not sold on Prime at all. Easy to win when you’re 3x or 4x more talented than every other team you play.

My list: (most of it wouldn’t happen, but a man can dream)
1A/1B Freeze/Dykes (again wouldn’t happen. But those are my first calls)
2A/2B: Malzahn/Chadwell (similar coaching styles, advantages with both)
3: big risk/bigupside - Garrett Riley
4. Tom Herman - he’s done it before. Was actually more successful than Sark has been.
If all that falls through then you call
Mullen

If leach leaves and we hire Gus, my MSU fandom is done.

Why?

Complete overreaction on your part needless to say.

His hasn’t evolved his offense and he already got fired at an SEC school with more resources. That would be will muschamp at SC all over again

You just compared Malzahn and Muschchamp….. Wow

One of those won multiple West titles and coached for a Natty as a head coach. The other hasn’t.

Leach steps back because health issues…

And replaces Courso on Gameday

I hope Leach is ok but this would be awesome

He wouldn't be any better than Kiffin is at Ole Miss. There is a ceiling at those two schools.

I’m not saying he would be dominant or stay there forever. I just think it would be a good fit for him as a “next step up the ladder” job.

From several accounts, when Coach Leach is down at his home in Key West, he lives in shorts, a T shirt, and flip flops. No way is he going to sit up in a booth with a coat & tie on.

You need to put a leach on his collar, so he doesn't leave.

He’s been looking like Danny DeVito as The Penguin. He needs some rest.

I’d hate it but what does he have to prove?

I hope he's ok. I've had a post-Rona cough for over 2 years and it sucks but that's all it is.

Wrote a paper on Coach Leach back in like 2019 for an Air Command & Staff College leadership course. He's an interesting dude. The American dream like Dusty Rhodes.

Mullen did a historically good job at State, despite what people say.

Mullen only coached 2 regular season P5 OOC games in his 9 years at Moo and lost both (Georgia Tech '09, Okie Light '13). His record was almost entirely built off beating G5s and a very down Kentucky.

While that may be historically good for them I'm not sure why Moo fans act like he was so incredible while giving Leach a bunch of shite for essentially winning at the same clip against a tougher schedule.

Something tells me if they have been letting Pat McAffe go on air looking like he does they'd let Leach wear whatever he wanted too.

Not sure Leach would want to work for ESPN though since they played a major part in him getting fricked out of his job at Texas Tech.

If Mullen is ever allowed back to MSU I am out. It’s like in the last 5 years everyone has forgotten how shitty he was. Leach has beaten more ranked teams in three years than Mullen did in 10

Mullen inherited a steaming pile of shite from Croom. State had 1 winning season in the 8 years before Mullen got there. After his first season, he then proceeded to take State to 8 straight bowl games. He had 3 top 15 finishes before tanking his fourth season at UF. He's not a bad coach.
