Just had an OM buddy of mine send me a screen shot from the OM Rivals board. McCready posted that LSU was going after Austin Thomas in some capacity.

They need to tie an anchor to that guy and leave him be.

Heard he’s ready for a DC role

It was peak Coaching Changes Board about 5 years ago when fans were clamoring for Austin Thomas to get the athletic director job just to keep him at LSU - and we had no AD opening.

Dude got notoriety just for being a bag man

To be fair, Alleva was the AD. Might have been an upgrade

Makes me think Sloan is going from bag man to play caller and we are bringing in Thomas to fill that role

I think Austin has a relationship with Frank Wilson. I get the feeling Frank is having a lot of input on this next round of coaching hires.

To be fair we were all in on anyone but Alleva. I would’ve voted for my meth head cousin to get the job if it meant Alleva got fired and I fricking hate that guy.

As I understand it, Austin Thomas is killing it in their NIL Department and LSU wants him in the same capacity

Dayum, them suckers are huge.

He is killing it but I have a feeling ole miss AD and lane have a different view on proper NIL use.
We seem to have zero issue getting NIL to guys that have already produced.
I don’t think fat Scott wants us touching the line on straight up pay for play. He is trying to use it as intended which ties our hands up.
BK looks to be ok with this strategy since he probably sees guys like lance heard as cancers that haven’t done anything and want a bag of cash.
So unless fat Scott is put in his place by boosters nothing changes NIL wise other than maybe we have more in the bank for on hand use

This cannot be totally true or would wouldn't have gotten Perkins to flip from A$M.
We also wouldnt be the leader for Underwood.

I didn’t say we wouldn’t pay for someone like Perkins. We just are clearly more cautious with ours than others.
We have zero issue getting guys NIL once here and produce. That isn’t how bama UGA ole miss and aggy are operating.
We are very good in the area of how NIL was suppose to work.
I also get why BK might not want to play NIL like Lane is doing. He wants to build a certain way and he had to clean out a lot of program rot caused by O.
It would be nice if our collective had more in it.

Why is it that people think that paying players didn’t exist before NIL? Every major SEC school pays for play today and 15 years ago.

I didn’t say it didn’t exist.
Under Scotty we are just more cautious about who we pay before they produce.

So a poster, on a paid site, posted a message in which he says that “an OM buddy” of his, sent him a screen shot from an OM rivals board, in which Neal McCready says lsu is going after Thomas “in some capacity.”
Again, the poster on the paid site didn’t have this info. Nor did his buddy have the first-hand info. But his buddy forwarded a message board post from some Ole Miss “insider.”
Jesus. shite like this makes Moscona and T-Bob look like Woodward and Bernstein.
