Riley and Napier know offense; Aranda knows defense - Campbell?

Since these seem to be the most likely 4, I’m a little concerned that Campbell is more of a CEO. He played DL and was OC one year each at Mt. Union and Toledo.

I feel like it’s really important to have a coach who can run one side of the ball if need be, and that seems to be a bigger question mark for MC than any of the others.

He's very mediocre in that department and no one should expect him to take on play-calling.

They’re 40th in scoring while being 85th in talent composite

Napier has been an OC one full season more than Campbell, and you're concerned about Campbell?

Campbell was a two-time all-American defensive player under Larry Kehres, and Urban Meyer tried hiring him away from Toledo. He knows both sides of the ball.

Both. Played D but coaches offense. One of the smarter x's and o's guys there is. Also why he's a favorite for the NFL.
Anyone who says Cambell can't coach doesn't know what they're talking about. He might be coaching the Bears soon though.

Campbell was a much more successful coordinator than Napier ever was.

Belichick also offered him a job which he turned down to become the HC at Iowa State.

Pretty sure Campbell continued to call plays when he took over at Toledo and has called the plays for most of his ISU tenure.

That’s exactly what I was trying to find out; doesn’t seem too clear cut

Judging by the reactions to your post, it seems almost unanimous that Campbell is the one people want to hire. Campbell it is, then!! Glad we got this all ironed out.

He's called the plays at ull since he got there. Kind of like Sean paytons role. The oc is a title only

Campbell's OC was nominated for the Broyles Award twice.

So if Campbell is the one calling plays, looks like we'd be in pretty good shape.

UL QB Lewis joined Ian Book (Notre Dame) and Justin Fields (Ohio State) as the only three quarterbacks to throw for more than 5,000 yards, more than 45 touchdowns, less than 11 interceptions and more than eight rushing touchdowns over the last two seasons

I like how Napier is such a great recruiter until it benefits his case to have lesser talent.

Ok, this is dumb. What is the talent composite of their opponents? 40th in offense is 40th. Average.
