As an outside perspective - I like Campbell as a HC. The job he’s done at ISU is fantastic.

But it is a little surprising if he is the top of the leaderboard. I always figured he was a Midwest type of guy.

ULL QB Levi Lewis went to my old high school. Lewis is a Baton Rouge football legend. But, he wasn't good enough or had the size for LSU to recruit him. With that said, remember ULL produced Peanut Tillman, Brian Mitchell, and Ike Taylor. The ULL program always has talent because LSU can't sign them all.

Why does their offense suck

LINK

“After spending the 2005 season at South Carolina State University as the Quarterbacks Coach, the Bulldogs went 9-2 led by MEAC Player of the Year Quarterback Cleve McCoy, Napier returned to Clemson as the Tight Ends Coach and Recruiting Coordinator from 2006 to 2008.

“In three seasons as Recruiting Coordinator, he recruited two top-25 classes, according to Rivals.com. The 2008 class was selected as the second-best in the country by ESPN.com. Napier signed several players who went on to play in the NFL, including Kavell Conner, Crezdon Butler, Brandon Thompson and Marcus Gilchrist.

“At the age of 29, Napier became the youngest coordinator in the nation. The 2009 Clemson Tigers scored a then school-record 436 points and collected 54 touchdowns winning the ACC Atlantic Division. Quarterback Kyle Parker was named a Freshman All-American and nine players Napier coached from 2009-10 went on to have careers in the NFL.

“Napier spent this past season as the Offensive Coordinator at Arizona State leading the Sun Devil offense to the eighth largest offensive turn around in FBS improving the 54th highest graded total offensive team in 2016 to the 14th highest graded total offensive team in 2017.

“The Sun Devils also became one of the best red zone scoring teams in the nation under Napier, tied for first nationally in converting on 95.83 percent of its red zone appearances (46-of-48) with the only two unsuccessful trips in the red zone being when the Sun Devils took a knee late in the fourth quarter.”

Also, he was hired by Saban twice… and he was reportedly offered co-OC with Locksley in 2016 but chose to go to UL. But go ahead and believe the haters and the totally ignorant crap they say about Napier.

Please don’t hire him because he is the one candidate I would worry about at LSU. The rest are in for a rude awakening dealing with LA recruits…except Aranda… but of course he has never won anything as a HC so isn’t qualified to be HC at the most sought after CFB position in the world.

Why’d you leave out his second year at Clemson?

What is “highest graded offense”? Who is doing the grading?

His Arizona state offense was 42nd in scoring offense and 37th in total offense. Meh.

ULL is 40th in scoring offense and 66th in total offense with an experienced senior QB

By comparison coastal Carolina is 7th in total offense and 6th in scoring offense. People call Jamey Chadwell Paul Johnson in shotgun but they have the 27th best passing offense.

ULL with Napier is 86th.

So it’s laughable to call Napier an offensive guru and insulting to Lincoln Riley to use in the same sentence

Except that is not correct. You’re not looking at the garbage teams that are in their conference.
