What's stopping Ole Miss from verbally agreeing then screwing him+LSU over with a breach of contract? I'd assume he has to sign a new Ole Miss contract for the week in order to sign with LSU right? I don't have knowledge on the legal aspects to this but it sounds really sketchy tbh.

Leak??? its going to be a tidal wave before the day is over. They actually tore up his current contract and gave him a one week deal to coach the egg bowl. If it is on here and Chicken is telling us this , the only reason he is doing so is because he knows the national media is on it and it will leak very soon. Once this all hits nationally there is no way they can let him coach the Egg Bowl, the distraction will be insane. The benefits of letting him coach will be outweighed by calming things down and letting Joe Judge take over. My prediction is that if this is all legit and I have no reason to think it isn't considering the source I think Lane will be announced at LSU on Monday afternoon.

Him coaching this week will be so much of a distraction it wouldn't be funny. Also, imagine the ending of that game and the madness that will ensue should he coach that game?!

If chicken is saying this then something has to have happened last week for the deal to go to overdrive. I hope this doesn’t blow up and we get kiffin but I am still trying my best to temper expectations, especially after the past 2 coaching searches

Why not let him coach the team til they are eliminated from the playoffs? They aren’t winning it.
It would be weird but I’d it’s announced he’s the coach at LSU , would not effect the early signing period if recruits know this .

His current contract would be nullified, a new one signed for the duration of the new contract (in this case, about 1 week). That frees him up to sign the contract with LSU. This is how it was explained to me.

That’s not at all what was stated. None of that has actually happened. That is how bountyhunter explained it would go down in order to avoid any issues with his current contract. This would be contingent on him signing the MOU tomorrow the 23rd.

Chicken is just reposting some interesting tidbits that got buried. I too found them highly intriguing and bookmarked them to follow up. Chicken even tried to get bountyhunter to start a new thread with the info but never happened. That’s why chicken is reposting them.

It could be LSU doing their due diligence to make sure everything was done above board. We’ve heard in the past that the SEC frowns upon coach poaching from conference rivals, but more importantly, they want as many teams in the playoffs as possible and this could effect that.

I get that, but I doubt he would be doing it unless he had a pretty strong indication all of it is legit.

No doubt Chicken has probably seen Kiffin’s signed LSU contract.
