Boise State lost Bryan Harsin to Auburn but they could have their new head coach right in their crosshairs. According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Boise State wants one of their former players to take over the program.

Kellen Moore, a former quarterback for the Boise State Broncos, is a top candidate according to Rapoport. Moore was the quarterback at the height of Boise State’s football success in the late 2000’s.

According to Rapoport, Moore, the current offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, is one of the top candidates with another top college coordinator.

"#Cowboys OC Kellen Moore is one of the top targets for the vacant HC opening at Boise St, his alma mater, sources say,” Rapoport tweeted. “He has not interviewed, but the school would like to talk to him, perhaps after today. Andy Avalos, #Oregon DC who coached at Boise, is a key candidate, too.”

Makes sense. He needs to take that job, too, because I don't know if he's on an NFL HC track

That would be a great move for both Moore and Boise St

He had a healthy Dak and Zeke last year...and 1st 4 games this year.
Boise would be good for him, over his head in NFL. Too pass happy.

100% needs to take it. I think would be a good hire and good move for him.

Yeah, and their offense was pretty good with Dak in the first few games. Defense was atrocious, but the offense was good. And they’ve produced pretty well in the last couple games with Dalton at QB.

I think Moore has a good future in coaching.

Win for Moore if he chooses to get away from the Cowboys.

I normally shite on these nostalgic moves, but I like this one. Would be an ok move for Boise and a great jump for Moore. Similar to ND letting the kid be OC.

Mike McCarthy said too much in the presser and it looks like Moore is getting the job.

Damn the Ducks seem to get luckier every day.
