Regarding LSU and Texas

Couldn't you make the argument that LSU is a better place to be successful? I know we don't have near the amount of money Texas does, so they've got us beat on that front.
But, in Texas you're recruiting (and getting beat on that standpoint) against aTm, TCU, Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, and LSU to some extent. In Louisiana, LSU is going to get pretty much any player they want. Some will leave state, but that is to be expected. Now LA doesn't have the numbers that Texas has, but I'd say our talent is every bit as good as the state of Texas'. So I'd say LSU wins out on that front.
I know LSU will have pressure from boosters, but nowhere near the amount of pressure a Texas coach will have.
LSU is ready to win now. Texas is still probably another 2-3 years away from being back, if they are really coming back.
Austin is a much nicer city than Baton Rouge though.
I think the argument could be made that, at the moment at least, LSU is a better job than Texas.

He's going to UT if they move on from Charlie. It is what it is.

there are positives and negatives for both jobs. UT, however, is historically a more prominent position.
i think a coach could come into LSU and have instant success though. UT would be some rebuilding.

That's not a given despite what you believe

UT is the better job. USC is also a more attractive position, and I say that simply because of how much nicer SOCal is compared to shitty Baton Rouge. Same can be said for Austin but Texas is better for many other reasons as well

Can someone link Herman saying Texas is his dream job?
Didn't this originate from a UT writer?

Who cares about what city you live in when you spend 90 percent of your week in football facilities/recruiting/traveling for games etc etc
You think Tom Herman is going biking on the weekends or going to the dive bars in Austin?

I don't think paying like 50% or whatever California's tax rate is nowadays is very attractive. And you know, maybe the city isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be when it comes to coaching.
In regards to USC, he won't have the best fan support in the world. Nobody really gives a shite about USC football. Especially now that LA has a pro team and could very well be getting another one.

Frick that... Austin blows... way too many hipsters... its becoming miserable over there

SC will not be making a move, no need to worry about us. It pains me to say that but Helton will get a 2nd year.

I would love to see Michelle Herman jogging around BR. She fine.

Our fan support is not much better at this point in time. At one time it was huge but not anymore.

SoCal is nicer? The entire area, mabe, if you enjoy massive traffic jams, packed neighborhoods, expensive-as-hell everything. But the university itself is not in the greatest of neiborhoods & L.A. is not the greatest place to raise a young family unless you are a billionaire. Austin, however, is quite nice.

Herman ain't coming here unfortunately

I'm so glad some of you have taken the time to speak with Herman and found out his future plans. Saves Alleva the phone call.

I don't believe that is necessarily true. Give us a product we can get behind and the fan support will come back. Fans were just tired of the same old bullshite with les.
