This just proves what is Les' best attribute. He really knows how to put together a staff. We have a cohesive and talented bunch. We play as a team and it shows on the field. I hope Kragthorpe is the final piece we need for a NC.

And the messenger has a ton of credibility.

RC Slocum was (and is) a helluva coach.

I'm glad the way it worked out with Les, but I would have been happy with hiring Slocum at LSU when Nick Saban left.

Love the bit about his recruiting and Texas ties, particularly in DFW.

This proves absolutely nothing. We had 2 years of putrid offense and at the very least Les tolerated it a year too long. The only thing that will prove anything are on the field results of the offense. No disrespect to RC Slocum but he can't tell the future. It remains to be seen how/if Miles and Krags will work well together. Anything anybody says is speculation.

The thrust of the article is that Kragthorpe is a man of character, has a good work ethic, is a good recruiter and should mesh nicely with Les Miles personality-wise.

I didn't see anything in the article where Slocum was trying to predict the future.

But when his wife, Cynthia, needed heart surgery to clear up complications because of multiple sclerosis, Kragthorpe stepped down to spend time with her and their two teenage sons. It was Kragthorpe’s first season away from the sideline since his career began in 1988.

I hope she continues to do well cause if not it may hurt if he has to take another leave or her health is a distraction for Krags.

Most Aggies I know say the A&M football team went sideways then down when R.C. was let geaux. They did not realize what they had...sound familiar?

He also wanted Greg Davis to be OC. I'd love to see the staff he'd put together.

Stating the obvious. Would apply to any OC hire.

Could it be that Kragthorpe was Les Miles' choice to replace GC all along. And, that he had to give GC one year while Kragthorpe was unavailable?

Just asking....

is that you went in expecting to find? "proof" that Krag will deliver a third BCS title to LSU?
