Are you fricking kidding look at what Aranda has done at LSU and Wisco it should not only be a talking point, it should be a deal breaker in my opinion and not because the admin is dictating it. But because Aranda is arguably the best DC in college football and not wanting him to be part of your staff would mean you think it is all about you and not the staff surrounding you!

usually its a big school telling a tier 2 coach no you cant bring that trash with you or you keep this piece. Jimbo is a tier 1 coach but if he didn't want to keep Aranda then we have issues. Look at his current D at FSU its complete and utter trash

What I have been told is that Strong knows he is out at the season's end, and that the UT boosters feel VERY, VERY confident Herman is their next coach. So if those two things are true "and my contact should know" then I don't see how Aranda stays. My boy said Aranda will probably be the highest paid DC in college football, which I am sure we would match.
All things being equal, Aranda has a GREAT thing going at LSU right now and talent galore. If the pay is the same, i see no reason he would go to the hell hole that is UT defense right now.
That could be a career killer.

If, and I say if because I don't think Jimbo would say NO to Aranda he is too smart a coach for that imo. If Fisher says no to Aranda then I would have to say NO to Fisher because Fisher literally thinks it is all about him and not also about the staff surrounding him. Fisher is not in the Saban/Meyer stratosphere yet where it literally is all about them and not about their staff, although look what Saban did in hiring Kiffin when he realized that his thought of how an offense should work won't help him win National Titles!

No, I made it clear it isn't about Aranda specifically but about the admin dictating who the new coach has to hire. You can pull that on tier 2 coaches begging for the job, not on someone who you are attempting to convince to leave their current job.
Like anyone else, I assume Jimbo would want to keep Aranda. But it has to be because he had the ability to hire anyone and that's who he chose, not because Alleva said so.
What happens if Jimbo goes along with it and when Aranda leaves Alleva demands that someone like Raymond gets a promotion to DC?

Makes sense. The next HC at LSU should be determined by the DC. Awesome.

and the pay is relatively the same...
Highest paid d-coordinator is at $1.5 and Aranda is at $1.2.
If you're Aranda and want to be a head coach or in the league in two years do you stay at the school that's loaded with NFL talent and build your resume
Or go roast weenies over the dumpster fire that is UT with your homeboy for 2 years.

Ok let's take this one thought at a time.
So with Aranda's body of work I think it is fair to say, he is the best DC in college football and I don't think you will get a lot of argument about that with the experts in the field. So I get it about something being shoved down Fisher's throat. But that is like saying; in taking this job you have to accept this winning lotto ticket also. What person in their right mind would say no to that, and who would really say they are cramming something down my throat that I don't want? So my thought on this is; hey it is your job but we are making it easier for you because we already have the best DC in the country here already so that is one HUGE issue you don't have to deal with it is already done. And if you don't just say; Wow that is awesome you are making my job easier. Then is this really the coach for the job, because it apparently is more about him trying to flex his muscle then seeing a bigger picture.
Fair point, but not really. At that point if Fisher is here and he is as successful as we all hope he will be, do you really think Alleva will be able to pull that kind of power play? I personally don't think so. If Fisher is successful he will be more powerful than Alleva and we all know that. If Miles had won 3 NC's in the past 6 years who would you back in a power struggle Miles or Alleva? So if Fisher is successful, Alleva will stay out of his way. If he is not then yes Alleva will be able to pull rank on him. So it would all come down to how successful Fisher is, which is the way it should be!

But that is the whole point, all things are not equal. The relationship with Herman and Aranda is not the same as the relationship of Oeaux or any other coach with Aranda. Also checkbooks might not be equal either. I don't know this but maybe UT is willing to pay more than LSU for Aranda's services. I have no clue if that is the case, and no one outside of UT or LSU admins knows that answer either. But it could be the case UT could make an offer that LSU is unwilling to match. One thing we definitely do know is that UT has a bigger wallet than LSU's, that isn't debatable!

Fisher is already more powerful than Alleva. Are you somehow under the impression he is begging us for the job and not the other way around?
Again, you're confusing the common sense conclusion of the new coach wanting to retain Aranda with the terrible administrative stance of forcing it. Just because it's Aranda doesn't make it an acceptable practice or that it wouldn't set a bad precedent.

I think Jimbo would realize we aren't going to promote Raymond. Its not even comparable

we a long way from being home on this. I think a major hold up any POTENTIAL move would be Fishers unwillingness to retain Aranda. And from what I've heard LSU doesn't want to budge on this. They're not 100% convinced wants to be a HC anytime soon.
love jimbo but if does not want to keep aranda then bring in HERMAN! we will have the cal lutheran connection! Kelly should be nowhere near our school. I'll take pellini back but i'd prefer keeping aranda.

It's called a hypothetical. Feel free to replace Raymond's name with any other you wish and then discuss.

Yea, Aranda isnt moving his family again to go to UT. LSU will match any offer and he likes BR and LSU.

Not at LSU he isn't! Why because he ain't here yet. Now does he have negotiating power, I would say yes but not enough to tell Alleva to go frick himself if he doesn't want to keep Aranda! If that is even a possibility. This makes no sense even arguing about it because the only, and I mean the only, college coach in this country that might not want Aranda is Saban because he is just as much a defensive guru as Aranda. I know you will keep going back to the argument "NO COACH WANTS TO BE TOLD WHO HE HAS TO KEEP" bullshite. But you have to think they are forcing Aranda down Fisher's throat and I truly don't think that is the case in anyway shape or form!

I think all of you that continue to post what fisher likes or doesn't like or what Aleva wants or doesn't want really have no earthly idea.
