How would something like that go down? Would a coach take a job sight unseen? Would we hire someone without a f2f interaction?

How would wife feel about uprooting without even knowing what neighborhood she’d live in? Wouldn’t that necessitate some face to face interaction?

Seriously?

Most people sure are small minded.

The head coach of LSU's wife could pick any house she wanted, and despite what some say, highland road has some of the most absolutely gorgeous homes in the South.

I know Franklin was completely lost in this week's press conference. When asked about whether he would remain at Penn State, he replied that all his focus was solely on Illinois. And said he was getting his team ready for the Big House (i.e., Michigan). Only problem: They're getting ready to play Ohio. He definitely sounded like someone who is considering taking a new job sight unseen.

For $10 million plus a year opportunity, I wouldn’t give a damn about her opinion.

I hope not. Because it might be Tucker and we haven't seen how he is this year against actual competition.

I don’t think it’s possible for someone to accept a job while still coaching another team without it being out in the open. Too many moving parts.. two schools involved… families involved… recruiting … I just don’t see it. Maybe an under the table hand shake?

The hire has already been made. Its either Riley, Dabo or Jimbo.
My first choice is Riley...but any of the three would be better than we have had since Saban left!

There's some NCAA issues too, especially when it comes to recruiting.

A school does have to prove a coach is employed, usually by submitting a copy of their contract and any other disclosures, to represent a school. You can hold an active contract with one school and thus can only represent that school and interference issues would result by contacting recruits on one side, and too many coaches recruiting on the other (because we still have 10 coaches authorized to recruit).

If it’s who people are saying, he’s lived in Baton Rouge before and worked for the current AD before. If that’s the case, wifey knows the neighborhoods and f2f happened a long time ago.

All true, but there’s been an upgrade at wifey.

You must be very young and inexperienced.

A lot of coaches would be leery of any AD trying to hire a coach behind the current coach's back.
