Playoff Selection Committee rankings come out Tuesday night...could that be another clue?

Could a candidate be waiting to see if they have a shot at all to make the playoffs? eg, Baylor, Notre Dame

If Ole Miss jumps Baylor this week, then you have to think Baylor is a long shot to make the playoffs, even with a win over Ok State.

Notre Dame is also in danger of being passed by the Big 12 champion, or maybe even Iowa, if Iowa can pull off the upset of Michigan. The Irish not playing in a conference championship game could hurt them...

I feel like Justin Vincent's mention of a Wednesday announcement is odd timing...why then and not today or Tuesday?

Chicken, Since you're funding the contract, who's the coach?

I listened to the full interview, and it sounded to me more like LSU wanted to have a coach in place by Wednesday rather than somebody is already hired and we will find out Wednesday.

That’s what I was thinking. That that could mean Kelly. But so many things could happen next weekend that could drastically change the rankings that I still think it’s too early.

I think Baylor is out no matter what. I think Notre Dame is very much still in it with a Baylor win over Oklahoma St. and Bama loss to Georgia.

If we've locked up a coach in a CCG or in the hunt for the CFP then next Wednesday would make the most sense, IMO

I think getting word out ASAP would make sense for recruiting...let the recruits know that we have a good coach on the way. Early signing day is only two weeks from this Wednesday.

If it is a coach coaching this weekend, I am sure Woodward doesn't want to mess up their game preparations...

I agree that every day we wait is valuable time lost against the early signing period

I think at this point our perspective is IDGAF if our announcement ruins somebody else's season

FIFY. The longer we wait, the more obvious it becomes the coach is still coaching or he’s in the NFL

Every coach with 6 wins is still coaching, for the most part.

I don’t believe it’s Aranda, regardless of where Baylor sits.

His interview with Klatt seemed genuine.

No way Kelly is coming to LSU if Notre Dame still has a path to the playoffs.

Agree on Kelly. Meanwhile, I've very recently become convinced that Woodward's real white whale is and has always been Dabo. And for the record, I do not give a rat's butt if Dabo is considered more of a manager or specialist, and I could care less how the guy speaks. He built a dynasty at Clemson and won 2 national titles. Give us Dabo!

If it’s Kelly I’m going to lose my mind. We are in a very similar situation to what Rhule walked into at Baylor. Would be a great hire. Aranda would even be a respectable hire but Kelly would stink to the high heavens.
