this guy is going to bomb so hard. I'm just glad he's not at a bigger name program where we would have to hear him all the time:

What the Fleck

"I am more than football," Fleck said "Our kids will be more than football. What does that mean. We are going to serve and give as much as can. In the new era of Gopher football it is not about us. We're going to connect people to Gopher football who don't even like football. ... Our players will have incredible, elite actions every single day. When you watch Gophers football from this point on, it will be different."

PJ Fleck, ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah. No he's not. Just because you don't like his tactics, doesn't mean he's going to fail. I know you're simple and all, but try to look past your own preferences and realize that they don't mean shite.

I really like the guy. Energetic. Charismatic. Driven.

I don't think he's going to bomb at all. Quite to the contrary.

Wut? I'm simple? You are the one who thinks bc a guy can throw one liners out left and right he's actually a good coach.

He comes across like a Butch Jones clone.

Over/under 4 months until he drops a "champions of life"?

I don't think he'll bomb, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do at a P5 school.

Frankly, I'm surprised at some of his cheerleaders on this board who are disappointed he took this job. It's like they're afraid he'll fail.

Minnesota will give him every opportunity to succeed. He just got Western fricking Michigan to the Cotton Bowl, so I'd expect some more faith in his ability to achieve the improbable.

Depending on his level of success, he'll have his choice of bigger jobs, if he wants to leave. If he sucks, he apparently would not have been ready for a bigger job.

You're right. It's about results. Fleck did an amazing job with his time at Western Michigan. Let's see what he does with the Gophers.

I don't like that he comes off like a shady used car salesman, but you can't deny that his teams were always disciplined and well coached.

I think he'll have success at Minn and probably his next step up, the question will be whether or not he can sustain it.

Wondering how much of his staff follows him?

Minnesota isn't gonna draw any big names, so I imagine a lot of it...
