Fleck doesn't have the leverage to worry about being micromanaged

If Les (who came from a bigger program) was convinced/forced to keep Jimbo, then PJ Fleck would certainly get in line with keeping Aranda. It's not like you can argue that Aranda isn't a great coordinator

And I like our chances of keeping Aranda. I think he knows despite all the turmoil, his unit has been great and it's only going to take 1 or two more years at LSU to put him in line for some big time jobs or at least some high profile stepping stone jobs. Jimbo is the only seneario I envision that we lose Aranda

I wouldn't mind Fleck.

I just don't want Coach O.

I'd let Fleck coach the special teams. That's about it for now. See Georgia.

This is the guy that when hired at WM, rescinded the scholarships to all verbal commits and then told the press he would have gone to the coaches office and told him face to face that he was committed to this team. Of course this was the dead period where recruits and coaches can't have contact.

#1 The accuracy of that story has been disputed. Only 2 offers were actually pulled according to other reports I have read.

#2 Dead period applies only to coaches, not players.

#3 if you want to talk recruiting, he has been possibly the best recruiter in the history of the MAC.

Fleck's resume is way too thin for LSU to consider him. He needs to prove himself at a lower level Power 5 team before he could get serious consideration. I don't trust "the next big thing" coming out of the MAC or similar competition. There have been way too many flame outs in the last 10 years or guys who are currently struggling.

I think I've officially moved off of the Tom Herman bandwagon and am looking for a seat on the PJ Fleck bandwagon.
