He was fired because of how he represented the program. He didn't really make it seem like he loved it there. The administration basically thinks that a monkey could win nine wins at Nebraska in the big ten, so why not hire someone who at least will represent the program well who is not a raging lunatic.

If the B1G was a better conference, Pelini would not have been fired.

I agree. He is just sloppy looking and in antics are really embarrassing. When Stringfellow transferred to Ole Miss and we flipped one or two of their big recruits, he insinuated in a damn press conference that Ole Miss was paying players.

Said something along the lines of, "Well there are certain teams that are playing with more money than we are on the recruiting trail."

What a fricking joke.

Henry, Seems I just read about Coach O and how much he paid the players while at Ole Miss. I don't know that for a fact, but that was given for a reason not to want him as a coach. This must be what is thought to be a fact. Just saying....

It amazes me we never got hammered for recruiting violations under Orgeron.

This is now the second time that Nebraska has fired a coach after never having a losing season.

Frank Solich was fired after going 9-3.
Bo Pelini never won FEWER than 9 games.

What's really messed up?

Tom Osborne also never won fewer than 9 games.

Seriously though, why the hell would you fire a coach who was 66-27 after 7 seasons unless there was something else going on?

I know Pelini was a massive, massive a-hole when Vince Morrow left to take his position at Kentucky. Really smeared his name on the recruiting trail and was just a real difficult a-hole about it. Then he was a complete shitbag towards Braylon Heard when he transferred because he didn't want to sit behind Ameer Abdullah.

So color me not shocked he pissed someone off to the point that he got shitcanned.

Dude has a stubborn attitude, no doubt. I've never forgiven him after he was caught on a recording talking about the fan base. He is an expert pacifier who tells the fans what they want to hear, but then when big games hit it's one meltdown after another. I have no doubt that the AD told him his coordinators would have to go, and Bo refused.

Bc 9-3 isn't satisfying to Neb fans. They want to be a national power again. It could backfire but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

To be fair, we all know Ole Miss is paying players, but I agree that him saying something about it is stupid and that he generally came off as a buffoon.

When you're talking about 40 years of history for any program, how can you call it luck? Any program seen as "major" had tremendous coaches along the way.

All of that is just the prelude to Pelini's message for the Huskers' fans: "It took everything in my power to not say, 'frick you, fans. frick all of you.' frick 'em." After Sharpe says a lot of students had left at halftime, the woman starts to say that people did return to their seats. Pelini interjects: "Our crowd. What a bunch of fricking fair-weather fricking—they can all kiss my arse out the fricking door. 'Cause the day is fricking coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm fricking gone. I'm so fricking pissed off."

He really was a dick at pressers. Always saying "they can fire me" type of shite. How did he not realize how bad that made him look.

why do people question this firing? ... it's one thing to go 9-4 every year ... it's another to get hammered in some of those games ... nebraska's gotten blown out big time in several games over the years ... and bo's an a-hole ...
