ya in a totally different era of football. The style of play now is totally different to back then. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts.

Adjusting to new offenses is fluid, man.

He hasn’t stopped coaching football. To think that he doesn’t know what is going on is pretty ignorant.

the man is still a well respected defensive mind and had interest from NFL teams.

He's only 52...I seriously doubt he has no idea how to stop current offenses

D2 is also quicker to implement new offensive philosophy and strategy. It’s not like he’s been seeing the Veer the past couple years at Youngstown

$2m a year huh. He's going to get the Aranda treatment right off the bat.

Solid hire, but people aren't going to have a high tolerance for anything that's not great from him.

Let's GEAUX. Familiarity with the program, area dynamics, and playing D/recruiting in the SEC.

You are the last person that should act like the authority on how coaches should be treated lmao

Both have coached in the SEC for over a decade. Plenty of time to become close friends

Are we all gonna pretend that we don’t talk about how much Aggie pays coaches? It’s a natural thing to discuss when talking about coaches, especially in terms of hiring.

So you are saying its a pride thing for fans to brag/make fun of other programs for? I don't understand why fans care what assistants get paid, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

I like this deal because if Pelini ends up working out we should get him long term.

this is the exciting potential of this hire. Bo has proven himself in this conference already. He is young, but has already tested the waters as a HC. Hopefully he is now satisfied with what he is good at...being a top DC.

Ehh, he’s still young enough. He could be taking this job specifically to get his name back in the ring for big time jobs.

Couple years of success at LSU and he could looks like a real nice option for a good program, especially since he won a lot of games at Nebraska.

I would just stop holding out hope for the unicorn coordinator that puts out top defenses every year but doesn’t have HC aspirations
