Peetz, Mangas, Calloway, Freeman, OC Staff vs DC Staff

NCAA allows for the following staff members for on field coaching and interactions with players of set positions.
HC + 10 assistants + 4 GA's on the field. Analyst are a completely different ball of wax.
If CEO was to hire the above mentioned you could end up with
Offense
OC
PGC
QB or TE
RB
WR
OL
GA for QB or TE
Defense
DC with focus on LB
DL
DB
STC
GA +3 one for each position
When breaking down staffs the GA position is very important for extra coaching
You could very well swing the numbers to the offensive side with GA's accounting for the loss of depth on the defensive side. GA coaches like C. Lacouture and B. Logan are essential when you have an unbalanced coaching staff. The new DC could potentially bring a couple of his own GA's to assist.

Do you guys need to start a thread for every hypothetical that pops in your head?

I don’t have a problem with this thread.
If you hire Callaway, Mangas and Peetz.. it does seem like numbers will be tight. Especially because they all kind of do the same thing.

Gotta be honest, having an OC, PGC and QBC seems like a lot.

i think if Peetz and Mangas come for OC and PGC. Callaway stays as an analyst, and learns what he can so if one of them gets taken next year, he can step right in after that. Would be nice to have a staff to step up to fill OC and PGC as needed

Callaway is more qualified. Bottom line.
I doubt he stays and plays second fiddle behind these guys.

Feels like Peetz and Mangas are both interviewing for OC and Callaway will be PGC. That's what I got out of the other thread. Could be wrong though.

I for one applaud you sir!
What he is talking about is a never ending battle for the staff with NCAA limitations and does, without a doubt, affect how you structure your staff.
And worth noting, as an example, not all playcallers to the field need headsets. Depends on your structure. If your DC (Venables for example) isn't wearing a headset he needs a dedicated coach (or GA) to talk to him and communicate what the other coaches or GA's are seeing (from the booth for example). In that booth there might be an analyst running patterns/trends, who talks to a GA with a headset, who communicates with a GA (or DL coach, for example), who then talks to the DC. There's a variety of options, but has to be planned in advance. Maybe your DC is in the booth with an analyst, so now you have a GA (with headset) doing the actual signals. That would then free up a headset for the offense.
It's a frigging jig saw puzzle.

I'm not sure how many times it needs to be said, but there is no scenario where there are 6 offensive coaches and 3 defensive coaches.
It's just not going to happen. No top defensive coordinator would ever agree to that.

Never understood why people care so much about someone starting a thread even if they have 100 of the same threads already.....
