So, I'm just asking here, but why can't we keep the existing staff with new Coach Kelley and see how things roll? Who is to say whether the while issue from it all was Coach O?

You really want to keep Jake Peetz?

CBK will be using the bowl practices and recruiting strategy meeting to determine whom he wants to keep.
In the meantime, any that are unwilling to recruit (for LSU) will be invited to leave. Those that want to be considered for staying have to continue to recruit (for LSU) as a condition of that consideration.

OR, why can't we let the man who has won so many games do it his way and bring that same kind of success to LSU?

They will keep a bunch, at least temporarily through early signing day
But in the end the HC has to align with his assistants. Furthermore the position coaches have to be able to work with the coordinators. That’s important. I don’t think either coordinator will be retained.
Thinking Raymond & Davis stay. Faulk has been rumored. Would love for Andre Carter to work his way back

I'd like to give our new coach with a track record of hiring good assistants a shot to upgrade the entire staff first. If he evaluates the current staff and potential new hires and decides to keep several coaches we should all be good with that, as long as Peetz is gone.

Yeh, Jake Pootz set all kinds of offensive records this year
I am down with retaining key coaches (Mickey, Raymond, Baker, Jones if we cant get a better fit)

This is going to be unpopular, but if Kelly wants to keep the entire staff, including Peetz, I'd be fine with that. If a coach like Kelly thinks he can make it work with the current guys then we have to trust that he can.
I don't know how Peetz is as a recruiter, but I assume he's not great, so I'd prefer someone more tenacious on the recruiting trail.
As for his performance this year, the entire staff was in a no-win situation, but Peetz was especially. He was a first year OC working under Orgeron who both micromanaged and provided little guidance, which seems absurd, but this is how I saw their relationship.
Orgeron said throughout the season they needed to do different things (run the ball more, get the ball to playmakers, "everybody eats", etc), but when Peetz would try to get his feedback on playcalls, Orgeron would respond that he needs to make those decisions. It was really strange to me.
I saw some good things from Peetz, though. The offensive concepts looked good and there were plays to be made much of the time. Also, we were usually effective moving the ball early in games, so it would seem the game plan going in was usually solid.
On offense this year, I think was just the perfect shitstorm. Inexperienced OC who was in over his head, shaky offensive line play to start the year, and a second year quarterback with some limitations with pocket presence, progressing through his reads and making quick decisions.
I'm certainly not advocating for Peetz to stay, but I think a lot of the issues he had could have been neutralized with a leader like Kelly guiding him.

Oooh, what a poke in the eye to coach O that would be if they did that and won 10 games next year. It actually wouldn’t be hard to pull off when you break it down though. LSU lost 4 close games last year and with a ton of players not on the field.

There are several current coaches I wish Kelly would keep, but I trust him to do what's best for the team going forward.

So here are my thoughts, which aren't worth shite but neither is anyone else's on here.
Kelly has a very long track record of success as a head coach. Perhaps we should trust him to use whatever process he has in the past to pick his coaches.
