What does that have to do with the 4 year contract? That specifically isn’t a hindrance. And we have boosters who will pony up to pay the man, especially if we continue winning.
What you won’t see is sheer revenue numbers for the Athletic Department funding this thing, so you’re right on that front.

LSU and Florida are probably coming with 10+ years. I don’t think OM matches that, but a pay raise with the current rolling extension setup may be enough to keep him.
No one knows what Lane wants except for him and his agent.

I do not believe Lane stays at Ole Miss regardless of their offer. They are not the brand that LSU or Florida are. Lane has done well with the portal, but cannot get the recruits needed for a Ship in Oxford. We shall find out soon enough.

Honestly, I wish LsU would come up with a similar contract instead of just 10 years with X guaranteed. That rolling extension setup is nice for Ole Miss.
What hurts is how low his buyout is if he decides to leave. Everything I see says it’s less than $4 mil

It’s something he cultivated for just this reason, probably. Kiffin strikes me as a guy that wants the freedom to choose and we’ve given him that freedom while trying to make it hard to leave in other ways. Hopefully it’s enough, but I personally am not confident.
