Shockingly I agree

Thus board has to stop panicking over each loss. At least until replacements are named.

This is the most emotionally unstable board on the interwebs. That includes politics

Y’all know it’s not mandatory to shite on every guy who doesn’t die in LSU regalia right?

Heck of a coach. Unbelievable we didn’t want to match UF’s offer. BK must have an ace in the hole.

How are people who are being logical about the guy melting? People who are acting like he’s bigger than the University itself and like he’s not replaceable are the ones melting.

This. I’ve watched way less talented teams have objectively way better looking DB’s in the last few years. It is what it is. If we make a bad hire and our DB’s suck it won’t be a reflection of Raymond being the GOAT like some people are trying to act

He really isn't. Nothing we can do about it at this point, but 3 star raw as hell Cordale Flott didn't become a premiere man coverage CB because Corey Raymond sucks actually. This is a huge blow no matter how we slice it.

About the only bright side is that maybe the staff as a whole can be better without him if the rumor that he left because he was threatened by Wilson is true, but that's very much so a "Wilson+high tier CB coach>No Wilson+Raymond" thing and not a Raymond is anything but elite thing.

LSU was in the 100s in pass defense last year and not much better this year. I was trying to be nice by saying not very good. The guy straight up put a garbage product on the field and had half of his players quit on him. He was part of the problem and I’m glad he is going to another sec school to spread his cancer

Riiiiggghtt. None of the defenses struggles had anything to do with Pelini in 2020 or a guy had never been a DC being controlled by a guy had never been a coordinator. Wow...some of you kill me.

So you're logic is Corey Raymond went from being a really good coach to absolute dog shite in two years because he somehow forgot how to coach, and not because he was doing the best he could in a shitty situation?

Does Dave Aranda know defense?

His group was constantly opting out and quitting! Greedy didn't play in the bowl fiesta bowl when we were short on dbs.

Don't you think the shitty dc hires have more to do with this than a shitty corner backs coach?

How do all his guys get drafted if they are shitty?

To bring in a guy he wanted to fit his scheme and help on the Midwest recruiting trail. I don't necessarily see that as a clear cut sign he thought Raymond was doing a poor job at coaching safeties. It also let Raymond focus more on Louisiana recruiting.

Very important and great point. This actually deserves its own thread - you want to overhaul the program? Well there is going to be some turnover.

And it’s been almost 10 years of calling for it.

I think it says volumes that he brought in a guy to coach 2 out of the 4 positions he was charged with.
I doubt Aranda was extremely concerned with Midwest recruiting

We hired one of the best Louisiana recruiters of all time.
