She’ll is just as active suspending players as compliance is. We can agree to disagree on Moffitt, but I included them to make the point. It’s a systemic problem at LSU.

I mean Mullinex and Marucci and Moffitt and Nader, etc have been around for a long god damn time

They all pre date Woodward even from his first stint at LSU. They’re part of the institution.

Hey man, I've been lurking for awhile and recently got my account all set up just to reply to you. I really do appreciate all the information that you give out!

Anyways, I got two questions for you.

1. Do you have faith in Woodward to make or at least try his hardest to make a block buster hire (considering O gets canned)? specifically, I have in mind the story of how Alabama got Saban. The AD personally waited outside Sabans home for a couple of days and was absolutely relentless. Is that something SW would do?

2. How much in danger is Will Wade's job? I imagine a lot rides on the independent investigation, but if you had to rate on a scale from 1-10, 10 being dead in the water, how screwed is he? Better yet, is there some previous coach or scandal that you could relate his situation to?

Thanks for all the info man! cheers

I’m not TBL, and I have zero sources on this one, but...

I’d guess about a 6. I believe that LSU wants to keep him, but I don’t like that new clause in his contract about the ncaa violations. I dont know if that’s binding, or if that meant only that “LSU can fire with cause...”

It’s obvious LSU wants to ride with Wade.

Yes and no.

From the (very) few nuggets I've gleaned I don't think the administration particularly loves Wade, but they are at least reasonable enough to appreciate the quick and remarkable turnaround of an, at best, apathetic program. Wade is incessantly demanding. He is highly driven to make LSU a championship program and, in turn, is highly driven to obtain the resources he feels he needs to make it happen. Not unlike Saban when he first arrived at LSU in 2000. While you respect the results. Those personalities can be tough to deal with because they are almost never satisfied.

Had Wade not completely turned around the program in 2019 he would have likely been gone shortly after the wiretap stuff came out. But the reality is LSU basketball isn't LSU football. It's not perceived as a top 5% job nationally and Wade has started to put together consistent results, with an opportunity for the program to be national player. Something that hasn't happened in 30 years. Plus, Woodward is smart enough to know that a BIG reason he is here is because of the visceral reaction from fans and booster alike against Alleva at that sold-out 2019 Vanderbilt game where Wade was suspended. Point being, Wade has the most outside support of any basketball HC since the heyday of Brown's tenure....and it took THIRTY YEARS to get even close to that.

In sum, I don't think the administration would be crestfallen if they HAD to cut ties with Wade. But they also are reluctant to do so unless they have no choice. Because you don't want to be the AD who unnecessarily let the next Billy Donovan, Rick Pitino walk off of your campus to have tremendous success elsewhere while you spend the next several decades mired in inconsistency and mediocrity. While Wade is CERTAINLY NOT in the Donovan, Pitino category yet. At 38 years old he's already led teams to NCAA Tournaments. Completely turned around a major conf. program. Won a conference title and looks to be in position to compete for another. Yes, there is potential risk in sticking with him. But their could also be huge reward for doing so.

I was so pissed at that shite, I fired off multiple emails to the athletic department admins. I never do that kind of shite. Verge was the only one who responded.

I do not believe people understand the seriousness of the Title IX investigation. Heads will roll. National Champ last year or not, O has culpability. His off the field antics will make the decision easier. Woodward was not here when the allegations went down. I would not be surprised of the Baylor approach is taken here.

I agree, fish or cut bait. Middle of the road is home to yellow lines and dead animals.

Show me a HC who has cleaned house that has been successful

If the 10-14 opt outs incoming is true it’s a clear sign the locker room is beyond repair under this current leadership. Don’t want to see this happen like this but my goodness wtf is actually happening

The first milestone date is ESD. If these 10-14 havent opted out by then their chances of catching on with a good program go south fast. Also if the class holds together reasonably well then that is a good sign.

On another note, If we fire a coach and staff in Feb or Mar there will be little to pick from.

I agree Lesnarf5- however he continues to surround himself with coaches that is no threat to his job. Ed is not comfortable in his own skin.
