I would love to know what reservations they have with him, not related to character?

Damn, Arkansas is melting down about us landing Kiffin.
The reality is you have no recruiting base and your program is a dumpster fire. That's it. The end. Until Arkansas high schools produce any semblance of talent and until your program is capable of winning a conference game, you'll be the last place anyone wants to land.

You're not landing Kiffin

This is what I'm hearing as of right now. Norvell is still the Ole Miss plan A. There's an offer on the table that's relatively close to what FSU can do. Yes, Florida State is a better job but the fanbase is delusional in regards to the state of their program. Norvell is about to be tossed into a nearly impossible situation in Tallahassee and I think reality is setting in. I'd say it's still 65/35 that the Noles get this done.
Ole Miss is prepared to match whatever Arkansas dishes out for Kiffin. At this point it's a matter of personal preference. If/when Ole Miss offers, Kiffin will sign.
Napier winds up in Memphis. Memphis is becoming a pipeline to desirable Power 5 jobs. He's not ready to take over at Ole Miss and realizes it derails his entire career if he's shown the door at 43 years old. Memphis is set up to win big for the forseeable future. This is the practical move on Napier's behalf and he close to triples his salary in the process.
Arkansas is going to be forced to fall back on Willie Fritz. A seemingly underwhelming hire, Fritz actually could be the guy best suited to right the ship. From all accounts, he's a battle-tested veteran coach that can stabilize/build a program. That's not what Arkansas wants to hear, I'm sure, but I'd look for Fritz to be one of the better hires of this carousel when we look back 4-5 years from now.

FAU head coach Lane Kiffin’s immediate future has undergone some significant changes in the past few days.
First, it was that Arkansas had him on their radar, and Kiffin was being considered as a legit contender for the Razorbacks job. Anticipating Kiffin vs. Saban, and Kiffin vs. Gus match ups in SEC West play certainly had some serious appeal for a lot of folks. The Razorbacks wanted to make a splash with their hire, someone the fan base could rally around, and Kiffin certainly checked both those boxes.
Last night we shared information that FAU was preparing an offer with the intent to keep him. Sources had told FootballScoop, even if Arkansas were to offer him the job, it was not a foregone conclusion that Lane would take the opportunity as he certainly values his setup in Boca.
Until recently, it felt as if Lane’s options were Arkansas or FAU.
Late last night we began to hear of a change. Something was up. Word we were getting from sources had swung to, “Well, it looks like Lane is going to move on.” What changed? Did Arkansas go big, or did a new player step up?
The whisper is that Ole Miss is now a major player in the pursuit of Lane Kiffin’s services.
Kiffin’s Owls play UAB Saturday at 1:30 ET for the Conference USA title. “Then things get interesting” one source told FootballScoop.

Where are you getting this, seriously?

He has this weird shtick where he's been talking about us getting Fritz for a few days now. I don't get it.

Honestly, the people I've talked with are pretty adamant that Ole Miss lands Kiffin so this is essentially a process of elimination. You whiff on Kiffin, you whiff on Harsin. Arkansas can't bring in a 38 year old coach with no SEC experience.. with no Power 5 experience and say "fix this."
It really just leaves a guy like Fritz who could come in and stabilize things. Nothing about taking that job is enticing at the moment and I'm sure deep down you realize this.

Ok cool, just wanted to see if you had any actual info or were just making a ton of assumptions like most on here

Dude, we aren't hiring Willie Fritz. You can go ahead and stop talking about it now. Thanks

It isn't just him, lots are jumping on the Fritz train to Arkansas. Some trolling and some very misinformed because of others. You would think there were three candidates this search by some on here.

Reading this thread just makes me gleeful about the fact that some of these fan bases are about to be REALLY disappointed. What will Arky do when Yurachek announces "Ryan Reynolds - OC of Eastern Michigan!!!" as HC? What will Ole Miss do when McIntyre becomes the next interim-cum-permanent fixture in Oxford after Luke and Carter?
Can't wait!

How many times has Ole Miss been to the SECCG?
No coach wants to be a part of the trashy Egg Bowl rivalry with Joe Moorhead.

Ole Miss actually has talent on the roster. At Arkansas he’s starting from rock bottom.
Your SEC title game appearances 15 years ago don’t mean anything to the kids who are in high school looking at schools. The same way they don’t care that Hugh Freeze took us to the Sugar Bowl in 2015. It’s all about right now.

Kiffin will be calling the Hogs sometime after his game this weekend.
I won't come back and gloat when this is all over. I'm just gonna tell you right now that I told you so.
