They weren't paying Matt Luke and staff that much lower than that so I don't see why not?
If it meant getting Lane Kiffin I don't think that people would have a hard time becoming a little more invested.

Only Saban/Fisher/Smart/Malzahn/Mullen are making over 5mm in the conference. Stoops is in 6th place as far as salary with 4.7m and is the 19th highest paid coach in America. People aren't just tossing 5 million dollar deals around although I do believe Kiffin will be close to the number.

I'm talking the whole package. Any decent OC/DC is going to cost more than $1M, and with salary inflation, any head coach is going to cost more than 4-5M
