Hankton has been our PGC. I think it will remain Co-OC and we bring in a TE coach. I’m hoping for someone who is a great recruiter.

I would say most likely Terry Malone takes TE duties. Currently an LSU analyst.

as they should. Why should we disrupt a good thing. Sloan has done an excellent job and should be rewarded. He is the only QB coach Nuss has ever known. Why would we change that?

It’s probably Sloan. As long as they change up the run scheme I’m good with it. Hard to tell anything about the run game because it was designed around JD.

I think its obvious that BK wants to do everything possible to keep Sloan and Hankton.

So that would lead to a co/oc situation in my opinion. Perhaps they look outside the program but I've heard they really want to keep Sloan and Hankton on the staff if possible.

Things will be interesting especially with possible Alabama interest turning towards Hankton for its WR coaching position.

BK is between a rock and a hard place with this decision.
If he hires Hankton, Sloan might leave and visa versa. This
Sat LSU could get the commitment from the top QB in the
country whom Sloan is the main recruiter.Which coach would
you choose.
Hanktons ego wont let him stay and Nick would love to
piss of LSU fans and get inside info on our Offense.

Others have suggested they could share the title/position. It’s not uncommon.

Sloan did well in bowl game. We scored points and threw for a lot of yards.

We've accepted it's Sloan, and more importantly so have the players.

The players shouldn't get much of a say and usually don't. The players always want who they know to stay. Interim coaches, position coaches promoted, whatever

He is a good one for sure, he been a good part of this offense, as an analyst. But does he want to recruit, go through the everyday of being an assistant?

So OCs are never on the field with eyes up top? Right.

to this reply and the other two who quoted me, i didn't say the players should choose. The OP asked if we've (the fans) have accepted it's Sloan. I said yes, but more important than the fans the players have.

The players opinion is more important than ours, sure you agree.

Given the shake up on defense, youve got to keep some semblance of continuity on offense.

That, coupled with this year's success on Offense leads to the conclusion that co-OC is worth the gamble. Especially with the 2025 class on the line.

Didn’t say that hoss. We didn’t have an OC though. We needed exactly what we did. Sloan up top looking at the whole field, calling the plays planned by all personnel prior to the game according to Wisconsin’s defensive game plan.

Sloan talking directly to Nuss when he comes off the field and Hankton running the WR’s on and off the field when the play is called. Not to mention Sloan being very familiar with this job, having done it previously.

It just makes sense. Hankton knows the WRs strengths/ weaknesses and sending them to their specific WR position when the play comes through and Sloan able to communicate with Nuss, knowing his strengths and weaknesses. They all throwing ideas up to Sloan from the field and he calling the play to take advantage.

That’s basically it. It’s actually much more complicated than that but in its basic form, that’s it. Worked pretty good, didn’t it?

We are good on Offense with Sloan. Give him the reins and LET's Geaux use our capital on Defense.
