We still need one of those too…or has everyone just accepted that it will be Sloan?

We've accepted it's Sloan, and more importantly so have the players.

I don't think it's as much of an issue. We've seen what the offense does and it's in great shape. There's real talent on that side of the ball. Sloan or Hankton did good on the bowl, and could do well as OC as far as I'm concerned.

I haven’t looked as much into the OC side but I honestly can’t say I’d be more excited about anyone over Sloan/hankton. Maybe the UW guy

Players should definitely decide who the coaches should be.

I'm good with Sloan and maybe an experienced "passing game coordinator"

Watch us hire Joe Brady. How funny would that be?

Hankton may not be at LSU long. He’s highly sought after. If Sloan gets the nod, he will leave. Can’t blame him for wanting to advance and be a OC.

Ummm I’m not sure that’s exactly how it went. Pretty sure Sloan was in the box and Hankton was on the field. Would be pretty difficult to Orchestrate the pass plays from the field. If this was the case then they should have both been in the box.

Pretty sure it was more of a collaborated effort in terms of game plan (including BK and other staff) and play calls were made from the box, relayed to the field and Hankton handled that part of it from the field to the box with the WRs/ TEs.

Frank Wilson handled the RBs on the field. Who went in on any given down/ formation, knowing what was needed or wanted on that specific drive at that time in the game.

When they saw matchup areas, those were shared up or down. BK of course drives the boat, speed up here, slow down, take a left, take a right, take a knee lol. Could be wrong but I think that is close.

Settle down, Nancy.

I mean, a more experienced PGC. I dont mind Hankton, but if we're experimenting at OC, I'd like someone with longer tenure. Either way, they'll be calling CBK's offense.

Hankton won't be at LSU long if Sloan gets promoted to OC over him.

With the total (and necessary) upheaval on the defensive side, it just seems to make sense that Kelly will likely prefer to not rock the boat as much on the offensive side. Even if he has a hand on the offense, a new OC will likely bring a lot of new looks and different terminology. With Sloan, all of that stays the same and they will just be tweaking the EXACT same offense for Nuss and the lineup for next season’s strengths.

Now prior to the game Hankton absolutely helped come up with the game plan with Sloan and other staff. With his experience as a pass game coordinator, he definitely helped come up with the pass plays within our offense used to attack Wisconsins defense.

Knowing the players at WR like he does, he would be placing these players at their specific spots, X spot, Y spot and Z spots to attack specific defenses Wisconsin throws at us. This is very important to an offenses success. If you put the wrong dude, running a dig route to the left when he’s always run it to the right or is just better at one than the other, he might drop that pass. Same with all the WRs. Sloan knows the QB’s strengths/ weaknesses and they collaborate to create the play book for that game. Same with Frank and the RBs and so on. Then you need someone on the field to help get it right in action.

Hankton has been our PGC. I think it will remain Co-OC and we bring in a TE coach. I’m hoping for someone who is a great recruiter.

Only way IMO to keep both Sloan and Hankton on staff is to make the CO-OC...not in love with that idea, but if either of them do not get the job I think they're gone. Personally I'd let one of them 2 walk, bring in an experienced OC, and have Sloan or Hankton (whoever you don't let walk) be a Co-OC so we can keep them on staff.
