I've seen a lot of people talk about Kelly's record and the strength of Notre Dame's schedule. I used this site to compile the data below and included LSU's SOS for reference.

2010: 32nd; 8-5 (LSU 8th)
2011: 13th; 8-5 (LSU 1st)
2012: 7th; 12-1 (LSU 11th)
2013: 30th; 9-4 (LSU 11th)
2014: 32nd; 8-5 (LSU 7th)
2015: 8th; 10-3 (LSU 5th)
2016: 28th; 4-8 (LSU 4th)
2017: 9th; 10-3 (LSU 27th)
2018: 13th; 12-1 (LSU 4th)
2019: 16th; 11-2 (LSU 2nd)
2020: 7th; 10-2 (LSU 17th)
2021: 16th; 11-1 (LSU 12th)

Avg. SOS 17.6 (LSU Avg. SOS 9.1)

Seems like hes done well given his talent level. Give him the LSU teams we’ve had and he’s got some rings.

Every coach we were looking at would have had a weaker schedule on average than LSU, unless we took from another SEC school.

Every team in the SECW is almost always top 15 SOS year in and year out.....so this is tremendous scheduling by Kelly/ND.

I see:

(1) 8 loss season
(3) 5 loss seasons
(1) 4 loss season

Those dogs won't hunt around these parts.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by his strength of schedules. The sec played either conference teams on middle school teams so it makes sense.

You think having an average strength of schedule of 17 is a bad thing?
