Saban will be in Austin before the 2013 season kickoffs. Les actually cares what his family has to say and his kids are in High School in Baton Rouge so he will be here a while

Is Brown out? He should be. Saban would be a solid hire.

He's gone when he's 70.

I would disagree. While I agree it's a top 3 job I think Texas would be the premier job. The fan base is loyal to an unhealthy degree and it's an easier path for them an Alabama. Still, I would admit Alabama is top 3.

I haven't read through the thread, but I'm guessing you got the same thoughts as the last 4,897,260 times this subject was posted in the last year?

I think he will get fired if he loses the NC game.

Texas is a better job than Bama fwiw. Probably the best job in the country as much as I hate to admit.

Austin is probably the best town in America that is home to a major university.

I heard on the local sports radio a guy say that Saban to Texas and Miles to the Cowboys. Wouldn't that be the shite.

I will be very surprised if he retires at bama. I see him coaching another 10 years (perhaps with a small break) and I just cant imagine all of those years will be at bama...

Over 20 years later and the myth of the brick still lives.

I think he's a lot more likely to leave earlier if Bama beats LSU in the national championship. He would really have nothing left to prove at Alabama.

Smart wldnt stick around that long. He is expected to leave this yr or next. If he has success elsewhere, I think Saban would endorse Kirby as his replacement. Kirby has told a few people that he thinks the Bama job is his once Saban leaves. Maybe he really thinks that. Maybe he has reason to think that. Or maybe he uses it as a negotiation point with other teams, but I know he's said it more than once.

Bama can do better than Smart for sure.

I realize Texas is probably the only program that can outbid Alabama, but that stands true for any program. They could just as well come calling for Les Miles and throw those figures that people in several threads have been "quoting".

It is not a question of what a school CAN pay. It is a question of what a school IS WILLING to pay. bama's program is tied to its coach waaaaaaay more than Texas is. Therefore Bama will spend more to keep Saban.

Texas knows it can win big without Saban.

I think he's 60 now. He doesn't care about money anymore, and it's been obvious all season that April 27th effected him. If he did still care about money Bama is prepared to offer him anything. I don't really see him going anywhere unless it's to give the NFL another try.

Wrong ! wrong ! ( think Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse ( Now ). There are 2 equally ( gooder ) programs other than Bama , LSU &
Texas . He's been there done that with one
and the other has more money than you can count
and wants to win at least as much as Bama .
