We were 9/39 on 3rd down and had a 54% TD rate in the redzone

We had significant issues when “throw the ball to Marshall who will run for a TD” didn’t work

Because there is no substitute for experience. I have no problem with young coaches working their way up. I have a real problem when LSU hires one when they can get experienced coaches. That is a fact. LSU doesn't have to "Take a Chance" on a young coach. We finally have a AD that gets it. And now we have a head football coach that gets it. I have no worries that wonder boy will be hired as LSU OC. That's just not happening under this coach. Thank God!

I get that you think you’re a smart guy even though you’re a total dumbass who’s borderline delusional, but the Carolina Panthers didn’t hire a guy who wasn’t our true OC. Way smarter people than you who were way more in the know made that decision, so shut the frick up with your crazy Ensminger fantasies.

At least you can halfway admit that you’re just jealous of young people who get better opportunities than older people though. Not sure what happened in your life for you to have that bitch arse mindset but it’s kinda sad

Just got an answer to my email to the Guinness Book of World Records. If you call him “wonder boy” one more time, you’ve got it.

Experience affords ability to review track record. If you're in need of college OC then you go get a PROVEN college OC. Not an NFL guy -> Linehan. That requires projection. Why do that? Go get a coach that has a successful record doing exactly what you require. It removes unknown variables. No guessing needed. Doesn't mean it's 100% certainty but it sure increases your odds of success.

It was the combination of those two men and the talent on the field that made 2019 what it was. Why can't anyone fathom that the two working together was better than they do apart.

2018 was an LSU top 5 passing season for Burrow.

[/img]

2020 had 2 top 10 single games by two different QBs. 2018 had 1 by JB in a bowl game. 2019 had 5.

No doubt Brady brought something to the table but so did Ensminger.

In 2020 the Panthers passing offense was ranked 18th of 32 teams, 1 above the Saints. 21st in total offense.

In this season, the Panthers passing offense is ranked 28th, 1 below the Saints. 28th in total offense as well.

I can agree they worked great together. Hell that's a fact. Just don't try to blow smoke up my arse that Brady was THE reason for that great season. Joe Brady is a great young coach. He needs to develop more. If he tries to bypass that again and takes another job he's not qualified for his career is over. I want him to succeed in long term. He needs to swallow his pride and go back to work.

I believe Brady taught ensminger the ins and outs of the scheme, but calling plays on gameday is a different beast, and E handled most of that
Yes Brady was calling plays. Brady's job was to filter the play selection down for CSE based on "setup plays" and what adjustments D had made. He'd hand CSE 3 or 4 options, CSE would pick one. Every now and then it was time to pull the trigger on a setup or something distinctive they wanted to target, and Brady would hand CSE one play.

What Brady really brought, as a coach and not a play caller, was to teach the QB to read the field like a WR and the WRs to read the field like a QB. That made the plays work. When they are reading leverage and space-time the same, the QB & WRs, it gave you:

1. WRs didn't have to be open, just positioned (leverage). But QB had to know that pre-snap.

2. Burrow rarely had to wait for a WR to "get open" they just had to know what line to put the ball on and the WR would be in position while the coverage wasn't. It sped things up and made life on the OL better.

3. You didn't have to audible "plays" just audible to a spot based on leverage (if man) or space-time (if zone). No need to move people around, the routes were adjusted "automatically" and since Brady taught them how to read the D, exactly the same, it didn't matter what route tree you were dealing with- it changed based on what they were looking at right then and there.

I agree he gets way to much credit around here.

Why was Ensminger’s offense so bland before and after him?

It's just a guess but it's quite possible that E is a very good coach in terms of organizing and preparing but very average at game planning and play calling. Conversely. It may well be that Brady is a hell of an idea man, but not terribly good at being the head honcho.

That's actually not a completely uncommon phenomenon in any walk of professional life.

People forget Kelly is actually a good coach and doesn’t need his OC to do everything.

Kelly + Brady could be a better combo than Ensminger + Brady.

LSU averaged over 38 points a game before Brennan got hurt. They were 1-2 because the defense was historically poor against Moo State and gave up 45 to Missouri

I couldn't agree more with this factual breakdown of the 2019 season and Joe Brady. It's fact.
