Nevermind, I might melt over this.

Why? What has he done at Notre Dame? Made a few playoffs. Big whoop. It's Notre Dame. That school actually can recruit itself.

Might be a less hyped hire giving him some space to work.

Definitely not a white whale, maybe one that washed up on a beach somewhere

He's something like 54-9 the last 5 years with 2 playoff appearances.

Would be a bad move by Scott. New coach needs a like ability factor.

Yeah, but it’s Notre Dame. That’s a built-in advantage right off the bat

And you could make the argument he maximized that advantage. He's lost 6 games over the last 4 years. They were to:

Clemson (CFP)
@ Georgia (who won the SEC East)
@ Michigan (9-3 regular season)
Clemson (ACC CG)
Alabama (CFP - by 17, tied for lowest margin of victory by that Alabama team)
Cincinnati (currently undefeated)

There isn't a "bad" loss on the resume.

On the one hand you can say "well, it's clear he can't beat the best teams." However, the counter is that he just can't outman the best teams...3 of which are among the top recruiting programs year after year. Perhaps if he were at a place that recruits at or near the level of Clemson, Alabama, Georgia he could get over the hump. Luckily, once such school is in need of a HC

Maybe 30 years ago but not anymore. This was addressed in and earlier post.

Anyone mad at a Brian Kelly hire is a complete fool.

We’re 6-6 with one playoff appearance since inception. One. People need to get a grip. Kelly would be a good hire for LSU

Most folks want to leave the harsh winters for warmer weather as they get older. We are the most Catholic southern state. Makes sense.

The guy’s a solid coach who’s had a good run at Notre Dame, but he’s never been able to get them over that NC hump. And he’s got EVERY advantage there.

They actually have quite the academic disadvantage. Still not my choice

Why would he leave ND?

Seriously? I don't want his old arse regardless, but you can't honestly say that Notre Dame is a better job than LSU lol.

Agreed, but i would say it would be a great hire...a home run hire, if you will.
