Honestly this is a pretty risky move for Kelly in terms of legacy. If he doesn’t do well here he will also be hated by LSU fans.

He may be hated by LSU fans but his checkbook will be nice and fat as he enjoys retirement. The upside of starting a new high paid job at 60.

Nowhere near as nuclear as when he returned to CFB. That was the legit melt. I think we went through all the stages of grief simultaneously. That frickin sucked.

Right. At that point it felt inevitable, like a badge of honor that NFL teams were poaching our coach. The timing did suck though.

It was nuclear though when he went to Bama. Those were some interesting weeks.

It was worse than 2011 for me. Because it foreshadowed what we have endured. That's a rock you carry in your pocket. I didn't drop that ro k till 2019..

It's like a ghost roaming the earth needing to be released to rest in peace. That's what 2019 did for me.

We knew Nick was going to the NFL from almost day 1. Also, this place wasn't as full of as many losers as it is now...mostly college kids and few guys just out of school.

Especially when he was talking about how he built the current LSU team during half time of the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. That's when you start seeing these coaches for what they are....mercenaries.

Do you think he's not aware of this? He's coming to collect a fat check but he also thinks he can win a natty.

Not me. The few fans I've interacted with have been snotty bordering on insufferable. Like bama fans with more teeth and better grammar, minus the recent championships.

Experiences vary, I guess, but when I went there for the LSU game in ‘98, you couldn’t ask for nicer people. They offered me and my buddy Buffalo wings and wanted to hear about our trip.

We would have the same melt if found in their situation.

You should hear, firsthand, what all the OU fans are saying about Riley right now. ND fans are being church girls in comparison

As much as I utterly despise OU with the burning fire of ten million supernovas, I don't blame them one bit. Unlike Kelly -> LSU, Riley actually hosed OU and didn't even bother telling the AD he was shopping around until he already had an offer from USC. I'd bet Kelly kept the ND brass in the loop for his part.

When discussing Riley today, a couple of my OU fan coworkers actually used the phrases "tar and feather" and "burn at the stake"... They're a little perturbed They're all saying what we already knew now, too... that Riley is terrified of the SEC so he ran away.

Our kids need to be shielded from him as well. He is a powerful SEC coach who still may be asked by the NFL about a player. If they Don show up or disrespect him, he may be vindictive later. They should be shielded from the dick.

Gather his key badge, etc, and escort him out of the premises. And he better be flying coach on his red eye.
well this one is kinda random eh?

But after all of that, the biggest melt in the history of Tigerdroppings was Joe McKnight to USC.

For sure. I wasn't on this board then but I would guess Saban to Miami or Saban to Bama felt similar to the way ND fans are feeling right now

Not even close. He flirted with NFL the year before, and the reactions were closer to resigned disappointment. It was not shocking.

Also the forum layout is garbage

Literally any time I try to go to any other school's forums I'm immediately reminded of how important a site's navigation and layout is and how good we have it here. Thanks Chicken!

About the only thing I wish TD was better at is the search feature, seems to work poorly if it decides to work at all lol
